Think I was wrong to come down so hard on AC Origins after the Ubi-fatigue kicked in. Jumping back into the game after a little break I'm thoroughly enjoying mself playing it again. It is a very polished game in many respects and I'm well on my way to completing it. If the fatigue kicks in against some point I know to just take a break.

Yeah I'd advise against making new char unless to talk with people until you felt you've done enough with your current character, having few on go is crazy. I typically just do whatever I want to do, rather than "need" - I used to farm tomes on both characters and forcing myself to but I'm not doing that anymore

I mean there is job jump to 60 and msq skip, but they're fairly expensive and I won't recommend these to first timers.

I did see that "boost" purchase but, as you say, Seven, it doesn't feel like the right thing to do for newer players; I would have the high stats but no knowledge of how I got there!

I'm kinda disappointed with myself as I've not played for a few months now but, for a while before that, I was getting back into it. I need to play it more and switch my brain on to learn the game mechanisms; I find that MMOs aren't exactly easy to pick up, though. Maybe I need to rota this back into my play list.

The ideal way is just ignore sidequests for now, save ones that have blue ! as they unlock stuff and do dungeons and such, as new player there's lot of stuff to do so best way to just go at your own pace when using main quest as guide you along the way.

I wouldn't worry about gear or money for time being either, but do try out various classes when getting used to your first class if you want variety.

Just finally got Spiderman back to 100% in the trophies stakes.

Probably will jump in God of War next. Or go for a “point and click” game like Grim Fandago.

I've resisted the game up until now, despite having watched a good many of those reviews/critiques over the past year. I recommend SuperButterBuns and Valkyrie Aurora's takes on the game - two of my favourite female YT personalities:

I'll not deny my interest was piqued. Finally, I gave in and purchased the game.

So far, so good (3hrs in). I knew what to expect and it hasn't disappointed. Yet. It looks far better than I was led to believe, too - really very beautiful at points.

Let's see how far I can get through this convoluted, opaque JRPG before I inevitably hit some impassable wall of difficulty.

Have my eye on this especially as it's X1X Enhanced. Still waiting for it to drop to €25ish in a sale tho.

DQ VIII 3DS. First proper Dragon Quest game I've played. Been enjoying it - exploring the world, the characters and their interactions, the dialogue and the text in general, the battle system - nothing too remarkable but there's a decent amount of options and variety in it.

Glad I have this version of the game for the extra content/playable chars, and changes like random battles being replaced with roaming monsters. I suspect other things were added to modernise the game - don't know what for sure since I never played the original - but it's been a pleasant playing experience anyway.

Also a branch of Jessica's skill tree is Sex Appeal. Nice.

Been burning through God of War 3, just beaten Cronos and got the final weapon, the whip's pretty cool but I still find myself basically just using the blades all the time (except for when you need the lion fists for shielded enemies). Really enjoying it so far, it's making me wish I'd got into the series a lot earlier. Although I should probably get out of the habit of using the same square, square, square, triangle combo for literally everything.

I finished it the other night and would agree; just used the blades of exile for the majority and the cestus when required. Wasn't enough distinction between the other blades to make them worth using tbh.

In fairness, I've used the whips a bit more now and they can be quite fun if you manage to stunlock a big group of enemies with the continuous attack and rack up a big combo, but still don't seem to pack as much of a punch as the blades.
Also, strawberry float the big Cerberus fight after the Labyrinth, big doggo himself I can manage, it's just the bloody satyrs getting all up in my grill that I can't deal with. There's too much going on at once with all the hellhounds exploding everywhere and the goatmen doing their bullshit flips all over the place.

Yeah, the satyrs are gits. I beat them by doing the grab with the blades; just keep that going continuously and they won't have time to attack you between each grab.

Started Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds; that first fight was pretty feckin' tough! Was not expecting that.

Finished God of War, was pretty good all told. I have a bit of a problem with the ending though, it's all well and good Kratos finding redemption at last and releasing Hope to the world, but given that the sea is now practically on a level with Mount Olympus is there actually anyone left alive? That seems pretty apocalyptic to me. Also the fact that he's still alive after "killing" himself kind of removes some impact.
Tried the challenges as well, managed to do all of the first set apart from the no weapons one and the one where you have to get turned to stone by the Gorgons ten times without dying. Disappointed there isn't a survival/arena mode of some sort to go with the challenges, it's the perfect game for one.

Opened up nearly the entire map on AC Origins now. I think the end of the story proper is in sight, but I need to level up a bit more first.

Currently installing V-Rally 4 for X1. Will take a look at that today as I'm off work.

Destiny on PS4. I think I have just about exhausted everything I can realistically do alone but despite the game still being surprisingly busy (there are even plenty of brand new players running about) it can be pretty hard going trying to find co-op buddies.

I joined an LFG page and have had some success there but this game (and it’s sequel for that matter) could have really done with some sort of in game bulletin board where players can post about activities they want to do so others can see and easily join them.

Back and forth with Fortnite and Just Cause 3. Fortnite is pretty compelling at the moment but I also want to play through JC3's DLC (Sky Fortress, Mech Land Assault and Bavarium Sea Heist) by around the middle of November.

Put together another 'destruction frenzy' compilation too, as the way gooseberry fool explodes in this game is always so satisfying. :toot:

Finished my Meganium only run of Crystal over the weekend, was a lot easier than I was expecting (didn't even faint once although I did get lucky on a couple of occasions early on in the game). Should get back to Octopath now but if I'm honest it's not doing a great job of making me want to play it, I found the same issue last time when I reached my 5th party member, it's kind of annoying to have to grind them up to a reasonable level before even taking on their opening chapter (opening chapters are now recommended level 11 for me). I expect I'll probably end back up on Skyrim or BoTW for the time being, or start the Torna DLC.
