This evening I started the first Uncharted on PS4 - I played through this on PS3 and it looks and runs even better on PS4 and it's been long enough that I don't remember exactly how everything goes but I often go "oh yeah, I remember this bit" when stuff happens.

Played some more of my new F1 2016 career this evening. Race two in Bahrain, (time is a thing though, so I only do 25% of the actual race, usually between 14 and 16 laps, with three complete practice sessions to really get a feel of the track and a short qualifying session). After coming 4th in the previous race, having started 8th on the grid, I grabbed pole this time and after coming out of the pits in 6th I gained ground to hold on to P1 for the rest of the race. Happy with that.

Playing one of the new ones that came recently on the Switch eShop - Rogue Aces. Having never played a game of this type before, it's actually quite fun. I doubt I'd get into other shoot 'em ups just based on this game, but there's every possibility I'll be playing this for a while.

Elex (PS4) - Started this yesterday and really enjoyed the opening couple of hours.
Pro Evolution Soccer (PS4) - I've played a few games this week and I can feel that I could easily become addicted to it again.
Bloodborne (PS4) - Uhm... I haven't actually played this for two weeks now and I'm annoyed about that. I want to return!

Plus Kart / Rocket League / Splatoon on Switch at the weekly GRcade online gaming sessions whenever I can join them :toot: . I'm also having thoughts about getting into Final Fantasy XIV Online (PS4) and The Elder Scrolls Online (PS4) again, but there is no way I could juggle this many games at once so I may have to slim down the selection a bit.

Started gears of war. I suspect I won't be getting far as the Beserker was a strawberry floater to beat, ended up grenadine the blocked doors to clear a path instead of getting the thing to attack.

Asura's Wrath - Xbox 360

I got this digitally when it was on sale so buying the additional content to get the proper ending/"missing" chapters was less galling, but a thoroughly stupid practice for a game which is 80% story/cutscenes and i'm glad it doesn't seem to have become too prevalent in the industry. Its totally mad and as anime as it gets but is very enjoyable.

I finally ditched Nioh as it really is quite bollocks and have gone back to Assassin's Creed Origins, after initially putting in 25 hours before putting it down. Fair play, it really is a great game. Yes, the narrative is a bit meh (with the odd exception) but it is just so easy to play. I don't mean that the game itself is easy (though obviously you kinda dictate that by which quests you take on), but the controls and game mechanics combine perfectly to make everything really intuitive and slick. I only wanted something to tide me over til God of War comes out, but I can see me postponing that and carrying on with Origins. Can't understand why I put it down in the first place, to be honest!

You know, I think my enthusiasm for gaming is back. In past months I've been a bit "off" it; no particular reason but I just didn't fancy sitting down and playing much (well, beyond Kart Monday and Rocket Tuesday, anyway).

But now there are lots of games I want to dive into and that feels good :-) . Got to make sure I don't stretch that enthusiasm over too many titles at once, though.

Had my Sunday Merri go round in 3rd person adventures.

Played a couple of missions in AC Origins (still love bayek).

Then another couple of ones in newly 4K minted Red Dead Redemption before dipping my toe back into Sea of Thieves with my mate who is at level 30 in each of his quest types. He decks out the ship and sail nicely too. We had a 4 part lost souls quest to do, it was relaxing enough, although we had to sail AGES away to each island. Nearly sank when an island opened fire from several cannons on our approach, then 2 galleons skirted the island while we were on it, both too interested in attacking each other to pay us any heed.

We got a decent co-op thing going with me on cannons on ship while mate ran about on island kiting them towards me, unless he had the weed skellies that regen in water.

We decided upon going back to the Division seeing as we both have X1X's and its great, there's SOOOOO much to do, put World tier to 4 and now loot drops mean things. Done some search and destroy and bounty stuff, snowy New York has never looked better, it's as gorgeous as it is fun to play.

Also started my replay of Resident Evil 7 seeing as it's enhanced. Looks phenomenal.

Red Dead Redemption. X1S

My third play through, but man it still delivers. While (obviously) not up to visual delights of the 4K version on X, it does look a tad crisper, runs a damn sight smoother at a locked 30fps (no massive frame drops), and load times are greatly improved. As the X1S is home to a new Xbox account I've also been doing a bit of achievement hunting, which has seen me explore a lot more than previous times I've played it.

Lego Batman 2 on PS3. I’m about 2/3 of the way through the main campaign and so far so Lego game but I like Lego games so that’s not a problem.

I had no idea it was on Gamepass until I started it up yesterday without putting the disc in. What a time to be alive.

I like the Berserker bit, the Ultimate edition plays rather well to this day.

Also Gears 2-3 and Judgement Day all hold up too.

Been playing AC Origins.
The setting's great, one of the best game worlds ever imo, but I can't help but feel that you can't ever really interact with it, particularly in the cities. I'd have loved for a few more little details and variation between the Egyptian/Roman/Greek towns, even if it came down to weapons, clothes and Red Dead Redemption style minigames.
The writing, plot and character design of AC has always grated with me, and this is no different. Still, enjoying it and just got to the fighting arena, which seems pretty cool.
