At the moment I'm playing Radiant Historia Perfect Chronology on the 3DS, and I've finally got around to playing Pikmin 3 on the Wii U. Didn't realise it came out 5 years ago. I loved the original and thought the second Pikmin was alright. This one seems pretty cool and the controls seem refined. I like the characters and interactions between them.

I'm really liking Radiant Historia though. It has an oldschool RPG feel to it while being refreshing at the same time. It very quickly got me invested in the stories and characters. The writing's good.

Radiant Historia is great. I have it on the DS and I can definitely vouch for it. Very glad it got another release.

I used to get the occasional Game Boy Advance game imported from Japan, and some of their names were just downright bizarre such as this little gem.

Still romping around Far Cry 3 on PS3, bit I did jump back into Far Cry Primal last night (PS4). I think I actually prefer Primal to any of the other games in the series. It just feels like a much more dangerous, engaging place and hunting prey and enemies is a lot of fun.

Hitman (PS4)
Roughly half way through the main missions. There's a helluva lot of content in the GotY edition and a helluva lot of replayability. Good fun!

Nioh.

For whatever reason, I'm not enjoying this anywhere near as much as the Souls/Bloodborne games - it seems to be of a particularly high grade of attritional bullshit with way too many systems going on. The promise of Ninja Gaiden combat, coupled with Souls structure sounded like a winner to me but it hasn't convinced me so far.

JYDGE - PC

I got this as a pack-in with the latest humble bundle and expected to try it for a few minutes and be done, but its an enjoyable top-down shooter that for once isn't a bloody roguelike. There are levels and permanent unlockables which give you plenty of options for taking on the various challenges each bite-sized level offers; rescue hostages, don't get hit, survive for 60 seconds etc., unlocking new maps, difficulty modes and upgrades as you get more medals.

There is almost no story to speak of - its a neon cyberpunk robocop-lite game where you go around dispatching mohawked punks and saving civilians while pleasingly trashing the place as you go; blowing stuff up, walking through windows or bashing through walls.

This is very good for short bursts and would be a great Switch game.

Toybox Turbos

Loving this, apart from this level I’m currently on. There is a section near the end that is littered with mines & unavoidable if you are speeding. But if you don’t speed that scumbag AI who will overtake you leaving you in the dust.

One or two mines would be fine. Not 5 to 8. That’s annoying, cheap, shite game design.

Goddamn, I'm really liking Wolfenstein TNO and Fire Emblem Echoes. Wolfenstein for its stabby Nazi fun times and FE for how different it is to normal FE. And it does not seem to have pervert character designs, which is great as I can play it in public :datass:

After watching the Bahrain qualifying yesterday I fancied playing some F1 so dragged out my copy of F1 2016. I do really like it, but I'd forgotten how awful the AI is in that they never break the racing line, even for a moment, unless forced, and if that happens instead of trying to race you, (fall back, reposition themselves, try to overtake etc), your opponent(s) will just ram into you with impunity. It amazes me that Codemasters can get so much right with their racing games, but who manage to balls up one of the most important elements. I got spun out by Verstappen and just watched as the AI just bumped and shoved into each other as they tried to push through the Red Bull and each other so as to maintain their 'programming'. Bloody awful.

In the end I had to take of full damage mode because it's practically impossible with it on due to the shitty AI.

Oxenfree - PC

This has been sat staring at me in my steam list for ages so thought i'd give it a go - so far a mix of teen angst and paranormal weirdness that's alright so far.

Fable 2 (X1S)

Only briefly played Fable 2 before, but always wanted to give it more time.

Anyway, just returned to Bowerstone and now I'm free to do as I please. Got a feeling I'm going to lose myself in this game.

Far Cry 4 (while I wait for 5 to get Yaar'd)

Completed the Secret Ending and now I just want to blow around Kyrat with Min killing rebels. He's a Very Good Villain.

The Music.

Apart from the floaty controls it still holds up really well and runs better than original and loads WAY faster.

Yeah the music is great. Love the dialogue as well. Brilliant stuff.

As I only briefly played it all those years ago I don't really remember how the game ran on 360, however here it's very crisp and smooth and yes load times are quick. I'm thoroughly enjoying myself.

Fable 2 is probably the last console game I played before using a standard controller became too difficult for me, it was very hard for me to give up something I truly loved doing and I still haven't fully come to terms with it.
