Door kickers Steam

Nabbed this in the sale after seeing it on a giantbomb quicklook. Think Rainbow six meets Hotline Miami, brilliant stuff.

Started GoW Judgement. Got it for £7 quid new. Seems very arcadey and fast paced. I'm liking it.

Played a little of EA UFC on PS4 last night and while I found it frustrating at first I'm getting used to the controls now although I do think they are a little complex. One thing I will say is that some of the character models are awful, some guys look like some kinda mutants.

Started playing a bit of Zelda A Link Between Worlds on 3DS - Seems ok, but I don't like the feel of old school zeldas, so don't think this is one I will love.

I started playing Persona Q. Am I the only one here? Haven't seen anyone posting about it.

I enjoy it a lot. I like the map drawing stuff so maybe I should try an Etrian Odyssey game after finishing this.

Don't really mind the fact that there's no town to explore. It could be enjoyable in Persona 4 but I also remember talking to every NPC in sight trying to "gather clues"... That was my least favourite thing about the game.

Etrian Odyssey is one of the hardest games I've played, after around 15 hours play I still hadn't beaten the first area boss.

This was roughly around the time when I was first finding it too difficult to use my DS so I never got any further than that.

I'm on Floor 3 of Alice in Wonderland and I'm enjoying it immensely.

That's exactly where I am! :) Just got the possibility to fuse Personas.
What difficulty are you playing it on? I'm on normal.

I haven't started Persona Q yet. I can vouch for Etrian Odyssey IV though, one of the best games on the 3DS.

The Swapper (Vita)

It reminds me of Guacamelee in that it asks me to perform impossible feats with my thumbs and forefingers. Really enjoying it so far.

Metal Gear Solid 4

Seriously, what the strawberry float is this gooseberry fool? I'm two and a half hours in and I've been in control for approximately 20 minutes of that. Can somebody tell me if this sets the tone for the rest of the game, because if it does I'm going to save myself a whole load of wasted time and play something else instead.

MGS4 gameplay is great, but yeah it's reason why I dropped it on Very Easy and just enjoy its story (even if silly) and if I ever want to replay it on harder difficulties I just skip all cutscenes. It's very short game in gameplay wise.

So yeah, if you like Metal Gear Solid but don't care about the story, skip it. If you don't really like MGS gameplay then don't bother.

Metal Gear Solid 4 is the only MGS game I haven't bother playing more than once, since it release. I finished it, and never had the hunger to replay it.

Might have to change that pretty soon. When I have plenty of time to absorb all those cut-scenes again. Pretty much forgetten most of the non-impact cut-scenes. :dread:

I loved it at the time but there really was very little gameplay to it.

Acts 1+2 had gameplay, 3 involved walking around an empty city then an on rails shooting section. Act 4 had no human enemies and act 5 was one linear bit then the corridor :dread:

Yeah, normal. I've been 100%ing each floor before progressing, but I'm still getting whomped by those big red beetles.

Rolling with P4 Protagonist, Yosuke, Chie (Front), Yukiko and Zen/Rei (Back).

Amazingly I'm using the exact same P4 team in my play through in the exact same order. I'm still slowly progressing through floor 1 of Alice in Wonderland.

Just started Resident Evil Revelations on the PS3. In short, this is gooseberry fool. Lots of loading and lots of poorly acted embarrassing cut scenes. I'll no doubt play it through to completion but would have been horrified if I'd paid more than £5 for this.

Yes?

Zelda a link between worlds

Completely different to the new 3d zeldas and feels like a platformer at times. Looks pretty awful too, but some nice gameplay ideas.

Another World. I'll try to forget that it's very unforgiving and i''ll never get to finish it because those big lumps shoot me better than I shoot them and it keeps sending me back to the being chased by water bit. Playing it last night, i do find it captivating and mysterious, it's so abrupt in how it plays, so matter of fact, yeah you're dead now and i find it refreshing. The simplicity of it, there's been hundreds of games where you shoot lasers with a gun but only this does it in a way that's satisfying to see the red lines move across the screen, or how you can create a shield for yourself, the red dots fizz in the air, it's evocatively presented, the colour palette is perfect. So many 2d games have enemies walk back and forth and this has these black worm things that fall from the ceiling and if you step on them you see their many teeth sink into your leg, just the graphic novel approach of showing a close up of it, it's so vicious and gives these creatures more intelligence and ruthlessness than if you just see them scuttle around. I'm at the point now where i only want these type of games, little is to be played but what is there is distinctive and memorable if also frustrating. I don't think i want games to move on from being 2d and simple, I'll be endlessly happy with another game and another of controlling some anonymous boy or girl, walking around some alien world, suddenly walking into some trap and just generally interacting with objects and creatures. It can be the simplest game but i want to play more.
