Aye it likely was drivers. I've since done a clean Windows install so I may try again :)

One thing I did love with the games on PC was expanding the FOV via a mod, you'll want to toggle it back to normal in certain bits (namely hacking) but it makes exploration so much more liberating.

> Mario Kart 8 - purely on the Monday and Tuesday GRcade online karting nights  .
> PES 2017 - Still playing regularly; Online Divisions is a roller-coaster of emotions  .
> Final Fantasy XIV Online - Just edging back into it this week with a couple of goes.
> No Man's Sky - Same as FF XIV!

Four varied games.... if I was sensible then I'd realise that they offer more than enough gaming for me to handle and that I don't need to buy more stuff.

Trine. It's pretty good, if a bit janky at times.

Take out the weapon breaking part and that would be a good description of Dark Souls.

Nothing is grabbing me at the moment :( I keep dipping in and out of Salt and Sanctuary but it's kicking my arse good and proper and so I wouldn't say I was enjoying it. Sent back Hitman and Ghost Recon, too. Maybe Skyrim remaster will be the time sink I am searching for.

X-COM 2, got battered playing it ages ago so started afresh. Just listening to some chill tunes on spotify and taking my time was perfect Sunday evening gaming. It's still ROCK hard but I've been doing ok now, no deaths yet but many of my guys/gals are 'gravely wounded'. I'll play it tonight I reckon with the odd Battlefield moment thrown in.

In the wait for the XCOM2 expansion I've started playing Hard West, which is essentially XCOM set in the Wild West with a supernatural twist.

It lacks the polish of XCOM but it was a made on a much smaller budget so the rough edges can be forgiven, seems pretty decent though and quite challenging as a good clean shot to a main character can instantly end your game.

Lords of the Fallen.

Finally beat that big bastard in the graveyard.

Yes I jumped to my feet, fists clenched yelling "Die! Die you bastard!"

The wife gave me one of those weary looks...

Fire Emblem Fates has managed to pull me away from Ffxiv, so playing that right now.

I'm grinding at the moment in my Birthright playthrough... When not met halfway to endgame yet! 47 hrs into the game, geez.

Also got Conquest and Revelations waiting, as I bought CE when it came out last year. Yes I've only started playing it now.

Been rattling through more of Dead Rising - done everything except for a couple of achievements now - the one for doing all the PP trials which is utterly ridiculous(requires 340,000 zombie kills) and three ten point multiplayer ones for the Super Ultra Mega etc. DLC which obviously are not achievable now that the game is dead.

The combat is bad, mixed with constantly having to dig into your inventory to select new shields, weapons or bows mid fight because you gooseberry fool is constantly breaking is the antithesis of fun. You spend more time in your inventory I a fight than you do actually fighting. There's been not one single memorable or enjoyable quest either. Curently I have to go and collect shock arrows from some strawberry floating horse man monster who can one shot me so all I can do is run and try and collect them while he keeps nailing me with one shot kill arrows or if I try and fight him, every shield I own breaks while parrying and all my weapon do practically zero damage. 10/10 GOTY

Dont fight him. Sneak around. Its easy enough. For what its worth I had enough shock arrows before I was even given the quest but I still went up there. Sneaked about and then out of curiosity tried to take him on. Realised it was a no go and then ran and dived off the mountain in the most epic nope moment. Glided all the way down to the quest character. 8-)

Its a 100% better game than Bio 1, but just far more forgettable just down to it being a sequel. The remaster looks lovely, playing it at 4K 60fps. I just beat the frist big sister and made it to Paupers Drop, hopefully i can actually finish this, because as much as i love Bio 1, any time i replay it, i give up by the time i get past meeting Ryan. The gameplay in 1 has just aged really really poorly.

I'd rate Bioshock 2 better than 1 including the story. Bioshock 1's story falls apart after 'that moment' but 2's is fairly interesting throughout plus having plasmids on 1 hand and weapon in the other just plays better. On X1 Bioshock 2 remastered also looks WAY better than 1, I hope the X1X upgrades it to 4K.

Saying that, I reckon much maligned Infinite would look jaw dropping in 4K.

I played through them both recently and I'm incredibly torn as to which I'd say was better. 2 is more consistent in it's narrative, has better combat and systems, and generally feels like a more complete piece. However, Bioshock 1 has better levels, better characters, the best videogame twist ever (even if it doesn't do anything with it) and a generally better, more tragic atmosphere.

So 1 then. By a nose.

Do agree with Bioshock 2 being better game, but I do still love Bioshock 1 very much so. Def has better locations/levels and characters personally.

Im just thankful bioshock 2 has better last bit of game, I don't really enjoy final boss in Bioshock 1...

On chapter 5 of Hotel Dusk Room 215. I'm addicted, h e l p

I've been playing Momodora: Reverie Under the Moon light and I'm super in love with this game.

It's a 2D platformer where you run around trying to lift a curse from your village by defeating an evil queen. I'm really enjoying the tone, atmosphere and pace of the game. It's feels quite slow which I'm really enjoying at the moment. It's been described as a 2D dark souls as it's brutally difficult although I'm not finding it that hard thus far. Going to keep chipping away at it, feel like I'll finish it at some point.

Went back to Total Warhammer.

HUM. I'm gooseberry fool at these games, but I really do have issues with the economy system. It's designed to limit your armies quite considerably compared to other Total War games: a fair way into an Empire campaign I'd maxed out the economy of a large part of the northern map with 3 big forces. This means that if you get attacked by armies that are smaller but more powerful, like Chaos of the new Norsca, you're strawberry floated. You either spend 4 turns trying to chase down this one army (at which point it's either run off of been reinforced) or you suck up some losses and try and take ground elsewhere. It never feels like I'm gaining anything, just replacing lost ground in new areas which then in turn require a standing army defense.

Again, I'm really gooseberry fool at these games, but this one is harder and more frustrating than previous entries.

Chock me up as another who thinks Bioshock 2 is better than the first one (I think it's better than Infinite as well). The gameplay is much better. Narrative, not so much, but I'd rather play something fun than something that just feels sort of.....there.

Play the Minerva's Den DLC as well. It's even better than the main game. It's a self contained story.
