It was a long quest line, did several quests leading up to this final part so knew it'd be hard. It was recommended for Level 39 and I'm at 42 but it was still rock hard. Eventually did it though.

Was that the dettlaff fight? I tried that fight for over an hour on Saturday and kept dying over and over, might try it again today. The fairy tales part before that was excellent.

Nope, I believe what you're talking about is the final boss fight of the Blood and Wine DLC. I was talking about how to find that guy though. When Regis has to go mental in a cage in middle the room while you dispense of the monsters coming in from the tunnels?

I found that fight easy but I'm playing on normal level I think.

I was hoping they'd finally sorted the controls out, if memory serves they've always been gooseberry fool.

New Vegas again. Plan on doing a more comprehensive and less rushed playthrough this time. Was a bit slow getting into it but now I'm really enjoying it.

Still plugging through Prey (2017). This is growing on me quite a bit, I was liking it before, but not enough to sit for a huge session on it. That changed yesterday when I put in a four hour session :datass:

The enemy types can be a bit samey looking though. The combat needs to be a little better if I'm honest. I love the resource hunting mechanic and the fabricator thing. That is weirdly satisfying, it also gives you a lot of choice, it really does feel like a survival horror game at times.

Game feels a bit like a better Bioshock.

Not really done much gaming this week. A little bit of M&M 7, but that's all. Quiet weekend ahead so will probably play a lot more.

Finally tried out For Honor yesterday after having it sealed months on end, and it's alright.
The single player feels like an afterthought bit like the Rainbow Six Siege single player missions, multiplayer though is great and reminds me a bit of the Musuo games.

The flu is gradually receding and gaming is back on the agenda. Just booted up Slime-San on Switch and I'm sat listening to the title screen music. It's sensational... so good :toot: .

Hey I've had flu too! Served me right for visiting this sceptic isle.

So yeah, I intended to play Darkest Dungeon on my Switch whilst on "holiday" (Preston in February oh God) visiting my kids, but I've not had much chance because of all the sweating and vomiting which ironically seems to be just the sort of thing that goes on in Darkest Dungeon.

Jawa what exactly is that game you're playing?

So far this year, I have eaten NO mince pies.

You adjusted your Elite: Dangerous flight path from the skies of Germany to the north of England, Octo? Please enjoy this tune whilst you recover from illness:

You are the operator! You are adding... and subtracting!

It's Slime-San, a quirky, weird and brilliant "twitch" platformer. If the genre suits your tastes, I'd recommend inviting Slime into your world!

I think I'll grab Slime San while it's discounted.

More for the pong mini game then anything else.

Celeste looks very good too.

You know, I wrote a really tight (I'm very tough on myself when it comes to QA) 2D platform engine in Python absolutely ages ago when I got my Raspberry Pi. I really should do something with that.

Shining in the Darkness on Mega Drive. I’m not very far into this but I’m enjoying it thus far. It’s a first person dungeon crawler with turn based battles. I usually give up on these kind of games as I tend to get lost but I’m using maps to help me.

Been playing Prey pretty much all day. Was loving it, then I got to this area where the framerate was utter utter dogshit. Seriously talking single digits here. Really pissed me off, game has been amazing up to this point.

Also replaying Knack 2 on hard with some swearing involved. 2 hit deaths are possible in some parts and not convinced I will be able to complete this.

CoD:WW2
I wasn't going to pick this up as I played nothing but CoD multiplayer for about 6 months last year. What can I say, I love it. I know it's never been less popular you like CoD as a 'serious' gamer but for me nothing matches how they feel (with the exception of Titanfall 2) and the satisfaction of getting kills. As someone who primarily plays online solo this is still the best option for me.

Fifa 18
Another unpopular choice but it's the football game I've played for a few years now and I know how it works. The online seems a bit ropey which makes it incredibly frustrating but when you get a good game and the old Fifa momentum shift is in your favour it is very satisfying.

Dishonoured 2
My next single player game after finishing Wolfenstein, I've really been looking forward to this as I loved the first. It looks phenomenal. AC Origins probably has more technical chops but the vibrancy and detail make it like something Nintendo would do. I'm struggling to get to grips with the gameplay, I want to go for an undetectable killer style but I keep getting spotted and just hacking my way through enemies.

Night In the Woods
This is my night shift game but as I didn't move much out of bed last week I put a bit more time in. I do like it but it's starting to drag. I will finish it but not bother with any of the side stuff.

Battlefield 1
Playing the new maps and at one stage while at a conquest point in a trench with rain pouring down, gun caked in mud and crouching with several others huddled together it looked photo realistic. I was actually taken aback at what I was seeing. Everyone had a gas mask on because of mustard gas grenade nearby and it was all stunning.

Then when we got the point we all surged over the wall into no mans land, bullets flying and half of us got torn to shreds, the sense of dread running to the next trench with gun fire all around is exhilarating. Played the Somme map and spent entirety of it at only a couple of conquest points but the hay fields by point A are again, breath taking.

PUBG/Fortnite BR
Play both nightly and I have no idea why resolution Fortnite is but at 60fps it looks just as good as before...excellent optimization from Epic. I still prefer PUBG but the frame rate differential is vast between the 2. I hope they can get it to 60, I mean it's perfectly playable but with Fortnite being so smooth it's a little jarring.

Got Dissidia Final Fantasy NT for £33 from Game and I've been giving it a go and so far I regret my purchase.
Fighting is fun and there's a great range of characters and stages, but there's bugger all modes and the story mode is a freaking mess.
