I've started playing Cities Skylines on Xbox.
I'm just messing about with unlimited cash at the moment to get the hang of things and relax and just build a lovely dream city but I really enjoy a good city builder  .

I'm going for an ultimate mass transit city with loads of cycling first.

Completed the Secret Ending and now I just want to blow around Kyrat with Min killing rebels. He's a Very Good Villain.

imo the biggest failure of 4 is that it tries to do a cowardly "all sides in violent conflict are really bad" story but strawberry floats it up so badly that the main villain ends up looking pretty good.

If they wanted to be properly shocking and edgy they should have made the branch where Kyrat gets turned into a massive heroin exporter the best outcome for its citizens.

Very sad to hear this. Hopefully some of the tech you showed will be compatible with Xbox's.

It's not the same but I presume there are a few streams around showing walk through's.

Yup. Then again, this is a series whose current gen reboot was a story of a Great White Savior (played in this case by a frat boy and his mates) coming to the aid of a bunch of magical black folks, and a series whose current iteration is the very definition of Centrism in the face of fascism.

Seriously, I'm another few hours into 4 and all the heroes are strawberry floating dull. Get me back to Min's palace and let's kill some insurgents!

Horizon Zero Dawn

Holy strawberry floating gooseberry fool, I've seen a lot of really nice looking games now on my TV but there is something about these first party Sony games, they really pop off the screen. First impressions are that it does feel a little clunky after playing Zelda and Assassin's Creed but the interesting world, lore and voice acting is definitely something I'm looking forward to seeing more of as it's typically sparse in Zelda and typically gooseberry fool in Assassin's Creed. Really looking forward to playing more.

Stuck on The Stanley Parable. Pretty funny in places.

Also made it past the first Alm bit in FE Echoes. Now playing Celica's questline. Have to go kill pirates. Man, the voice acting is strawberry floating good in this.

Goddamn I'm enjoying Far Cry 4 more than I thought I would. The plot and characters are gubbins but the moment to moment action and variety of activities is extremely diverting.

That's all Ubisoft games for me. A half decent writer could really elevate their games.

Been dipping in and out of 4 myself recently. It's a great game for picking up when you just want to blow gooseberry fool up. Lots of fun.

Primal, while slower paced, is also great fun where stealth and cunning take a front seat. Sending in your bear to cause a panic then picking off the enemy with your bow with precision head shots never grows old. Highly recommend Primal if you've not tried it.

Still plugging away at FE Echoes. It's damn good. I'm on chapter 3, which is cool as you can switch between two armies.

Celica seems a bit thick though.

Finally gone back to Xenoblade Chronicles 2 after not going on it for ages, finished chapter 2 and I'm just clearing up side quests before starting on chapter 3's main quest. Just got to gather up some stuff for fertiliser for a Nopon. Is it worthwhile spending a while playing the game to upgrade Poppi before I leave?

Still slightly annoying that so many high levelled creatures roam the world so close to low level ones but other than that it's going great.

Also went on Yooka Laylee for a short while but sadly it's still not doing a great job of grabbing me. Shame as I really wanted to enjoy this after waiting so long for the Switch version after backing it.

Some more Fable 2 tonight, and now into the morning. Absolutely loving this game.

What has made me smile is how much Fable 2 has highlighted how different the industry is today. For example, every time I walk up to an abode and enquire about the price I almost half expect to be hit with a "This DLC can be purchased from the Xbox Store. Press A to continue". Obviously that is not the case and, rather bizarrely, it's quite refreshing not being asked to empty my wallet every time I want to do something outside of the main quest line.

Anyway, aside from the wonky control of your character this is a fantastic game.

Still grinding my way through Nioh but, by crikey, is it dull. Currently in a poison-invested mine and it is one of the most drab environments I think I've ever witnessed in a game. At least it's got new enemies to fight. Oh, hold on a minute. No it hasn't - they're exactly the same ones as the level before. And the one before that. And the one before that.

Does this get any better or should I cut my losses and bin it now?

I binned Nioh as it became both frustrating and, as you say, dull after a while. Very little difference from level to level. While Nioh starts off promising It's no Demon's/Dark Souls and to my mind not as good as Lords of the Fallen either.

I think upgrading her is worth it, it can be a bit of a slog but I found having more quests helped with this as you can pick off 2 or 3 things in the same area as you go around. Theres no huge hurry with it though, you can do it in your own time if you want to see some more of the main story.

The mix of the soundtrack and the gameplay is an awesome adrenaline rush. It all works together perfectly.

I need to go back to it and do another olaythrough on the harder difficulty.

I went back to play some Overwatch for the new event. I hate this game, it winds me up like nothing else.
Play ranked, everyone locks on dps, fine I'll go support/tank and get annoyed at everyone in an unbalanced team
Play Quick play, everyone locks on dps, fine I'll go support/tank and get annoyed at everyone in an unbalanced team
Play Mystery Heroes, other team gets a perfect setup, we get stomped, or have to play so hard to just lose. Even the very few hard fought victories annoy me as I feel like I have to pay the perfect game to get there

I really like the characters, and the gameplay, it is just the players that make playing the game so utter hateful

I honestly struggle to think of another classic series that reinvented itself after such a long hiatus so well as Doom did. It was honestly worth having a break from 2004-2016 to get a game this good. When BFG Division kicks in in the middle of a fight it just makes you want to go strawberry floating mental. I cant think of another game where the soundtrack so perfectly elevates the gameplay.

The best part is the way the soundtrack works around glory kills. But man, that level where BFG division kicks in was awesome. The best moment in the game.

I've been really impressed by Bethesda over the last few years. Their software has been fantastic.

Yeah, Doom, Wolfenstein 1 & 2, The Evil Within, Dishonored 1 & 2, theyve been killing it for years now

Their post launch support is incredible, I know they charge for things but 4K patches, Switch ports and VR across such a range of technically impressive games is amazing.

Playing through Doom on a quite night shift somehow makes it even better.
