Loving AC Origins, it really is a huge step forward for the series in many respects. In fact I actually prefer it to BotW for 'go anywhere, climb anything' RPG-lite adventuring. Brilliant stuff.

Hooking up with a few friends for Conan Exiles on PC this weekend.

Actually gave Conan Exiles (PC) a whirl last night/this morning.

As far as a survival RPG/MMO set in the world of Conan goes its not too bad. There's bags of potential there and with a bit more time it could grow into something great. So yes, I'm enjoying it so far. The feeling of being dropped into an unforgiving, harsh fantasy world with nothing but your wits to keep you alive makes for a cool atmosphere but it still needs some work, particularly with combat which as it stands is a little Skyrim in its execution: ie clunky sword swinging that doesn't carry much weight. A little more optimisation wouldn't go amiss either.

FE Shadows of Valentia is kinda becoming a slog. It's still good, but strawberry float me, the level design has too much padding in it (units who can spawn other units etc.) Kills the flow of the battles when you have to wade through fighting crap units.

I do like the exclusion of the Waifu bullshit and the dungeons though.

A Hat in Time - PS4

Started playing this tonight, only played the first world (Mafia World) so far but I quite like it. It’s very colourful and it plays like an old school 3D platformer, liking it more than the little bit of Yooka Laylee I played a couple weeks ago.

Fairy Fencer F, still.

I'm enjoying it lot more than I thought as I played more of it, did genuine made me laugh out in some places too and it's nice to see game not taking itself too seriously all the time. It's typical anime stuff sure, but hey ho it's making me smile.

 . I focused on Bloodborne for - I'm not sure - about two weeks and it was cool. I got stuck with the Cleric Beast, though. I love the atmosphere and I even got used to the die/repeat scenario, but I did get a bit frustrated with CB.

I then played PES online for a few weeks before deciding to give that a break. I'm creeping back into Elder Scrolls Online now and I'm enjoying that as it's something that I can do at my own pace. It's pretty complicated, though.

Lego Batman 3. Only a few levels in and this is a typical Lego game which is cool because I like typical Lego games.

Conan Exiles (PC)

Put around 18 hours into the single player now (only a few hours into the multiplayer). Once you get your head around the mechanics it's thoroughly enjoyable. Certainly the most entertaining survival game I've tried and the Conan setting is captured superbly. Built a second, much larger dwelling along with an armoury, furnace, artisan bench, black smith station and the like.

Ghost Recon: Wildlands (X1S)

After a lengthy break myself and my buddy decided to get back into our play through. I had originally abandoned the game, but on playing again I'm glad I kept my copy.

Been fun ride so far, hopping back in for second playthrough to try get things I've missed first time round as well going for other ending (Got Tiara's ending ) but I'm glad to have it beaten at least once.

I enjoyed Spec Ops when it was first released. Good game.

I think I've gone and got myself addicted to Conan Exiles. Put in 20 hours this weekend with the train of thought being "just ten more minutes, got to mine some more Iron ore etc." I've allowed the Wife to drag me out looking for a new sofa set to just pull me away from the game. :dread:

Oh, and played some more of the excellent AC Origins until the early hours this morning.

You know... I'm totes fed-up of being rubbish at games :( .

I love playing PES but I'm now always drawing or losing. I want to really get into Elder Scrolls Online and Final Fantasy XIV Online but I barely know anything about the game mechanics or what to do. Bloodborne was *really* challenging and I was pleased with my staying-power up unti the Cleric Beast; but CB was just too frustrating.

Why not play something a bit more (for lack of a better word) casual. I know they get a bit of stick now but the Ubisoft open world games are a nice mix of empowering and rewarding, AC Origins is definitely worth a go.

*quick edit* Recommending a 40 hour game to Jawa :fp:

 . I can do some "hardcore" / "big" games... I completed the main campaign of VVVVVV and discovered every location / item in Mad Max. But, generally, I find "fast action" hurdles to be too high.

I think I need to just concentrate on a couple of games rather than flitting about. I'll probs carry on playing PES and ESO as my main games, with Kart and Rocket League just for the great GRCades online sessions.

If you're tempted to give Bloodborne another go, it's probably worth knowing that you don't have to beat the Cleric Beast. That end of the bridge is a dead end so you don't unlock anything when you beat him.

 .

 .

But... how do you get to the next part of the game if you don't tackle CB? (Don't tell me!). Appreciate the tip although, tbh, I wouldn't feel right advancing in the game if I didn't defeat CB.

For now, though, 'Borne will remain paused. At the moment I'll stick with PES and ESO / FF XIV and just try to git gud.

Playing AC Origins myself at the mo. Definitely worth playing. One of the best games of this generation as far as I'm concerned and as as Hime says, it's nice and easy to pick up and play.

We have a weird completionist thing in gaming in that not finishing a game is seen as failure and inexplicably burden ourselves with to do lists. Obviously there is a balance as it's easy to get in a state of trying something for 5 minutes and moving onto the next thing but it's fine to say "this isn't for me" and move on.
