Speaking of open world stuff, i'm deep into AssCreed Origins - the combat is a welcome change but to me a lot of the lovingly crafted massive world is just filler between points on the map. I have the witcher 3 on the backlog pile but after this its going to be a while before i'm in the mood for another massive game like this, and the next one is out in october :dread:

I continue to be disappointed by the pairing back of the modern day story - to me it gave more flavour and context - syndicate was great because the historical LAAHNDAN stuff was all about finding clues about what happened to the shroud. In this it seems to be this adstergo woman following Bayek's life to prove her portable animus works and not much else.

Thought I was on the last mission of HZD, but turns out I wasn't. The guy I was working with said something about make sure you've done all you want before starting as there is no turning back. But the story is not over and I still have access to my quests, the little tease!

Everybody's golf 2 (PSP) - Trying to unlock all the extra characters is an utter pain in the arse, especially seeing as every single walkthrough online seems to be for the US version which bizarrely has different ways to acquire certain characters than the EU version I'm playing. They also have different names too.

The last guy

Was enjoying this until I realised divvy game design 101.

Now take this game. You grab a power up & die, restart the level & now it either appears somewhere else or doesn’t show up at all.

Top game design there.

Online with mates over weekend and had quite the time.

Fortnite Final Fight has been excellent although PUBG remains a constant, another Chicken Dinner too.

Got all single crew thrones in Sea of Thieves, the Fort one took me nearly an hour to nail the perfect cannon shot up to it. Means I have the Throne outfit now, it finishes on Wednesday.

The biggest surprise was Halo MCC. We played 6 player Halo 3 custom games, jenga being a favourite. 5 of us balancing on top of a wall of bollards and pallets while 1 player uses boast things to chuck stuff at us till we all fall down. It was a laugh from start to finish.

Played some classic Halo 2 BTB with 1 bomb assault on some DLC map I never played (or don’t remember) still was good to be back in the groove, all at 60fps too. We fired up Halo 3 campaign and 3 of us tested how it was if lad with best broadcband hosted and it was perfect, we’re 4 playing a Legendary run through next weekend.

Biggest problem with online Mp is that it ejects everyone from Halo party system after each game and you have to rejoin which is annoying, also when a mp game is over you have to search from scratch again, it doesn’t retain players from previous match, I believe these things are being fixed in update tho.

AssCreed Oranges has picked up a bit, i'm level 25 and making good progress, however there are too many "bandits stole my horse/wife/husband/book/shoes/hair/face" quests.

That sounds like an interesting name. Is there an AssCreed Purple as well?

Fallout 4 on the bone, and Electronic Super Joy on PC.

Really missing the ability to resolve situations by speech checks in F4. It seems non existent, compared to F3 and NV. The modding stuff though, is strawberry floating class. Excellently fun weapons. I've got a serrated Chinese sword, a double shotgun that explodes everything, and a minigun that has a spike basher on it.

Electronic Super Joy hasn't grabbed me. It's quite challenging, frustratingly so at times. The checkpoints lack common sense at times. Turned the sex noises off almost instantly.

Going through the second episode of Life is Strange: Before the Storm, really enjoying it and loving the indie soundtrack.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution

strawberry float I'm enjoying this more than I thought I would. I was hugely disappointed by Mankind Divided to the point that I sort of wrote off the whole series but replaying HR made me remember that it's a really, really good game. The cover mechanics are great, the levels are well designed and allow for multiple play methods, the hub is interesting and full of side quests and the design of the thing is as impressive on release.

Should tide my cyberpunk kick over for a while!

What didn't you like about MD? I loved HR but for some reason I haven't started MD despite paying £30 for it and it being the only game on my list of shame this generation.

I love both games. I think Mankind Divided slightly edges it over HR, despite the abrupt ending.

It's more of the same (good) but the plot progression is absolute bobbins (bad). It goes something like this (as far as I can remember): filler, bomb blast setting off the plot, filler filler filler filler, sequence in the city that was all over the marketing that lasts for maybe an hour (you never return), filler filler filler filler filler filler, final mission with lots of hints towards serious story movement...end.

Almost nothing happens in the game at all, story wise. The combat et al is pretty much the same as HR but everything else is inferior.

Some of that filler is good filler tho

Still plenty of good stealthin' to be had, my only major complaint (other than being half a game) is the loading

I do agree but holy moly was that ever a game that needed another year of production.

The Letter (PC)

It's horror visual novel that came out on Steam last year, but picked it up in sale just recently and I think it's one of my favourites after Steins;Gate -- it has some issues I'm eh on but overall it's been wild ride so far. Just finished 5th playthrough and I've yet to hit 30% of nodes seen on last chapter...

I've not been gaming that much recently and, when I do, I'm just playing for a short while before skipping to another game. Gotta sort this out so I'm thinking of drawing up a shortlist and forcing myself to stick to it i.e. whenever I sit down to play then it has to be something on that list.

Don't know how "short" that list will be, though. Anyway, it feels like a way forward so I'll draw it up later.

I and I think loads of others will agree, love the fighting and the story, and that puts it well ahead of GTA for me. Though it is not even close to GTA as a sandbox experience (I played it through twice and it took around 28 hours both times, so you are probably around halfway through)
