I understand the premise, but it's more than a bit unbelievable that you can't even pick up a bottle or a lump of wood to twat someone over the head with. If you can only run and hide then a better control scheme is needed as this one is a bit clunky.

I didn't like it. Especially the bits where it's too hard to see strawberry floating anything. That isn't scary, it's just annoying as strawberry float.

Yeah, it's annoying as hell and the quick draining battery life of your camera makes it infuriatingly difficult, but not in a challenge = reward difficult. I can't even get past the basement section. This is third time I've tried Outlast, but it's just not fun so I'm ditching it altogether.

Uninstalled.

I picked up Stardew Valley on Saturday morning after reading this great article on HN: https://www.gq.com/story/stardew-valley ... ne-profile

I must have sank about 15 hours into it over two days and I'm now completely burnt out . I made the mistake of starting the Summer season by planting a ridiculous number of berries that take three full energy bars to water with the bronze watering can. I started trying to balance watering the crops with mining the caves to craft sprinklers but just don't find them efficient enough. Then I built a dozen or so preserves jars for the berries not realising how long it takes to make jam. Many mistakes in my first foray into farming.

I don't like the game, but the generous checkpointing means you can just scum your way through every section by just running through and picking a different direction next time if you die.

It completely unravels the atmosphere and attempts at horror, but hey you shouldn't have any trouble with the difficulty :P

Nah, I'm done with it. Got better games to play than wasting my time with Outlast.

For a game that feels like it should be relaxing there is an awful lot of pressure which you can experience when playing Stardew Valley!

I dip in and out of it now as I can't take the pressure of being a farmer full time!

I'm on Mario Kart Double Dash at the minute, and Toad just voiced his results clip twice [for both himself and Paratroopa]. I haven't heard that before, but it's just a fun thing to note.

Almost finished Gears of War 4 on XBO (at chapter 2, Act 5). Graphically quite nice but feels like the worst of all the GOW games. Will finish this when my son returns from uni.

Gone back to Sleeping Dogs on the PC. This is actually quite good, a better version of GTA.

I much prefered Sleeping Dogs to GTA. I bought the special edition on PSN a while back, I really must give it a blast at some point.

Gone back to Zone of Enders on the PS4 and I'm nearing the end of it, the combat is really great but controlling Jenhuty is a bit of a pain.

I was going to say "it is like GTA if GTA was good" but I thought that might set off some tears.

Hexyz Force

Relatively obscure PSP JRPG with some nice anime cutscenes, haven't spent much time with it yet but seems pretty good so far. The visuals are nice and chunky, very similar in style to the brilliant Jeanne D'Arc.

Its supposedly quite short though, even with two separate story campaigns but after spending 120+ hours on Persona 3 I think something lighter will be a good thing before I start Disgaea 5 in the next couple of weeks.

Diablo 3 (Xbox One)

Just finished the story mode, so it'll be Adventure Mode time for time being to get to 70 before moving onto other characters although originally wanted to beat story mode so I'm glad I've achieved that!

The evil within (Xbox One)

I am too wussy to play this in long sessions, if not that then actually start playing it! Got to Chapter 3 and I dunno if I'll ever beat it  May as well call it slow progress, can't complain too much for tenner

Final Fantasy XV (X1)

Enjoying it, though I'm not in hurry to progress through the main story - happily exploring the world when strawberry floating around. The banter between the characters is nice -- and it looks stunning. Will be playing it off and on depending on my mood

Taking a break from Destiny until my complete edition turns up in the post I had a quick go of Castlevania: Circle of the Moon on GBA last night. I've played through this before and seem to remember it getting rather hard pretty quickly. Turns out my memory was correct as I barely made it through the second boss fight and then had to make my way very cautiously back through an enemy rich room with a sliver of health to reach the nearest save point.

I'm about 10 hours into Yakuza Kiwami 2, and i'm back on the cabaret club circuit.

Great to see Yuki-chan again.

Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga+Bowsers Minions - 3DS

This is my first Mario & Luigi game i’ve played and i’m really enjoying it. The writing has been entertaining and the battle system is simple but works well and more options have been opening up as you go along. It’s colourful and really easy to get into, i’ll be picking up more of these for sure

I'm about 25 hours into Dragon Quest XI. Enjoying the story, but battles are very simple and easy. I should have selected Draconian mode, but I'm not restarting now.

Went back to Diablo 3 on PC last night. I'd played through the story when it was first released, but hadn't looked at Adventure mode or seasons before. Created a new character for season 15, and I'm up to level 20.

Been playing on Wii U lately, so far two main games I'm going through is Mario & Luigi PiT (DS VC) and Bomberman 64 (N64 VC)

I really hope Switch will have VC, but until then I'll make sure to use Wii/Wii u for VC. (Especially that you won't be able to download your Wii VC games after January 2019...)

Anyway. Mario & Luigi PiT I'm enjoying it, although much prefer Superstar Saga to it... And DS VC is weird on Wii U, with tablet having bottom screen and TV using top screen but after getting used to it it's not too bad.

Bomberman 64 - had to buy it as soon as I saw it on Wii u, since I loved it when I was kid. Still loving it, but its more difficult than I thought! Either that or I suck :eyes:

Also SM3D World with boyfriend, and Wii Fit U taking turns.

Sadly the controls on this are far too woolly to get much enjoyment out of it. I'm not sure if it's the netcode or whatever but half the time you'll be killed by something that doesn't touch you, or touch a laser and it doesn't activate. It's infuriating, because the basics of the game are well done, but it currently plays like ass. Doesn't help either that no-one is online on the game at all so more often than not you're paired with 5 AI players and they're all insanely good.

Everything I wrote there is bullshit. This game is amazing.

It's consistently been described as one of the best MP games of this generation that simply hasn't sold at all.

What's most surprising to me is that it's on Xbox Game Pass so it's effectively free to try out for subscribers, but I've found three people online in the ten hours I've been playing. I understand that it's on PS Plus this month too, not sure what the player count is like there.

It's not the most welcoming of games, but when it hooks you, man, it's superb. Even playing against AI it's just fantastic fun.
