Just finished, some real annoying back and forth to locations trying to get a few bits done. I thought the last quarter was a lot better then the first 75% it was still ridiculous in premise and could have done with some better story structuring but ultimately it's mass effect. It reminds me a lot of Mass Effect 1, a bit marmite for most you'll either love it or hate it. I found myself in the second half running through everything as I just had no interest in anything going on it was a bit boring.

Gonna try and trade this towards persona or yakuza 0. Any takers?

I'm near the end of the game now, had a prompt I was going to be entering the final mission, so polishing off the side quests now.
The amount of back and forth just to talk to people is quite frankly unforgivable. I spend longer in load screens going from A to B than I spend actually at my destination before I have to go to C through yet more load screens.

It's a major blemish on what has been an otherwise very enjoyable game.

I do miss the Paragon/Renegade system though it has to be said.

If you want to get the platinum there is some fairly missable stuff you'd need a guide on. I wasn't going for a plat, by the time I had a proper look at the trophies I had gone too far.

Depends what you want out of the game to be honest, none of the choice I made seem to have made a lasting impression on the galaxy.

Then more worlds become available that you can scan, scan them, go finish off the sidequest, then everyone and their mother wants to give you a new side task... Or talk, I did feel overwhelmed by the sidequests in this

I wouldn't mind if there weren't so many loading screens to go through just to go from one planet to another. You've got a loading screen to fast travel back to the Tempest, another loading screen to take off, then you have to re-open the Galaxy map, a loading screen to transition to the other system, a loading sequence to zoom in on whatever planet you're going to, another loading screen to land and then another loading screen to fast travel to wherever the nearest travel point is to your objective. If you're going to the Nexus or Kandara then you've also got another loading screen for the tram/lift.

Given the MP a go. I'm enjoying it, basically a copy of ME3 but faster paced due to jump jets. However like ME3 at launch it's pretty bare bones, I'm hoping for more maps and character classes. Maps in particular. There are only 5 and I played one 4 times in a row, remnant enemies each time. Yet to face the Kett faction. They really should randomise better.

There are some good story ideas in this but they are spread a little thin. I love the missing arks threads and wish they had done a little more with that aside from a hint at the end. The characters do develop as it goes on but it takes time to get going, and the Kett are a pretty poor enemy. It suffers from setting up future games that may not happen now

I think future games will happen eventually, though EA have announced that Mass Effect has been put on hiatus for the moment.

The IP itself certainly isn't dead though I think, it's too popular to just kill off entirely. They'll probably give it a few years then around 2020 there'll be an announcement of a new game, possibly going back to the Milky Way though in an attempt to distance it a bit further from Andromeda, then possibly touching on Andromeda again later.

Apparently the Montreal studio that produced ME:A has been turned into a support studio because of the poor sales down from ME3 and pushed onto other projects. This means Andromeda DLC has likely been aborted.

The good thing about all this, I think, is that there will likely not be any future games set in Andromeda. What I want is the Milky Way a few generations after the events of 3 and being able to see how things have developed after the war. Hopefully they release a "Mass Effect 4" with a new protagonist dealing with these issues and not just throwing away all the past events like this game did.

I'm enjoying this and it'd be a shame to abandon the story.

Bioware really lack imagination. I find it hard to believe that Andromeda is the best they could come up with in terms of storytelling. They go to all the trouble of taking you to another galaxy and for what? Boring antagonist, a boring new allied race, a retread of the whole alien precursor thing.... why? There are hundreds of sci-fi novels with really original ideas they could have stolen with little effort but they did not even do that.

I hope the new IP they are working on is an improvement.

Is what I did on Eos (driving to those 3 terraforming things; searching for glyphs; killing bargain basement mobs; exploring vault) the main gameplay loop for other planets?
