Nope, it’s been completely ruined unless you go to a pub or restaurant. Go and try one and see for yourself, but make sure it’s one with 18 calories per 100ml as there are still some old stock around but disappearing quickly.

I think they’ve done the same to Sprite. I don’t really drink much fizzy drinks but a Sprite when thirsty on a hot day was always refreshing as strawberry float! I think they replaced a load of sugar with sweeteners though and now it just tastes terrible.

Tango, too. Haven’t bought it for years, but got a bottle with a KFC deal. Just not the same. Not terrible, but it’s lost that insane sugar hit.

I occasionally buy Pepsi because I need a sugary drink to have after or during a long run. I'll have to go Coke only now.

Just don't mess with pepsi max, the ultimate 0 calorie drink (that isn't water ok i know i should drink more water).

I get it, zero calorie sweeteners have been proven to not have the negative health effects the press used to spout (CANCER!!!) but at a certain point you might as well just stop making the sugar version tbh.

Just ordered a bottle so I can judge it for myself.

My verdict: like Tango, it’s not terrible. It’s obviously lost the extreme sweetness, and now has that distinct (but mild) artificial taste. It’s a bit disappointing but it’s OK. I’ll try it with JD at the weekend. That might neutralise some of the difference. I think I still prefer it to regular Coke, which feels like it’s dissolving my teeth with every sip.
