New pepsi - now 57% less sugar, 100% less taste

Has anyone tried new pepsi? It’s absolutely horrible. They’ve reduced the sugar content by 57% so it’s now 18 calories per 100ml in all cans and bottles manufactured in the uk and Ireland. Pepsi max is much nicer.

Thankfully normal Pepsi is still available on draught in pubs and restaurants.

Pepsi has slashed the sugar content of its classic drink by more than half.

Shops will now sell cans and bottles with 57% less sugar - 4.55g per 100ml.

The "reformulated" Pepsi is sweetened with a blend of acesulfame potassium and sucralose, PepsiCo said in a statement.

The changes mean a 330ml can will have contain 15g of sugar, when previously it was 36g.

A two-litre bottle will have 91g, down from 213g, and the sugar content of a 500ml bottle has been cut from 53.25g to 22.75g.

The new bottles and cans hit supermarket shelves in March, but pubs and restaurants will continue to serve the higher sugar version

I've always gone for Max over regular for as long as I can remember anyway so it doesn't surprise me that regular pepsi is becoming more awful.

as someone who is pretty much addicted to Pepsi Max, i'm glad they've not messed with that recipe. Though I am trying to move to the decaf stuff due to current health issues

I rarely drink it (I choose Diet Pepsi or Pepsi Max Caffeine Free), but seeing as there’s so many options in the range, why change it? Presumably just to avoid the sugar tax.

When they alter these recipes they always make it considerably worse (San Pellegrino, New Coke, Lucozade).

I guess this explains why it’s not been available for a few weeks. I don’t drink it a lot, but it’s by far my preferred mixer with JD, so this is very disappointing.

Pepsi has always been gooseberry fool. A poor man's coke.

And don't get me started on those weirdos who like Pepsi Max.

Regular Pepsi has always been an inferior product to Coke, I'll give you that. But Pepsi Max is the nectar of the gods! :capnscotty:

I was always a regular Pepsi guy. Just felt a much smoother taste than Coke.

But that was around 20 years ago when I quit drinking all fizzy drinks. So I guess I'm saying I don't give a gooseberry fool about this.

Pepsi has always been shite, I'm one of those awkward buggers who says 'No' when you order a Coke and they ask 'Is Pepsi alright?'.

I could drink Pepsi Max in a pinch though.

Shouldn't that be what not where? Most, maybe even all beers leave the brewery carbonated be it via natural or forced carbonation although some are made to go flat in transit.

I rarely drink fizzy pop but I did have a Pepsi Max today with my Subway. Very gassy, burped after every mouthful.
