New PS3 drive questions

Finally took the plunge and ordered a 320GB drive for my aging 60GB PS3. To swap the drives, is it a simple matter of doing the backup of the existing drive (to a USB drive), putting the new drive in, start the PS3 (which I assume will detect the new drive and ask me if I want to format the drive), format the drive and restore my backup?

Will this take care of everything (e.g. all my download games and content will work without problem, all my accounts will be restored)?

Anything I should be aware of?

Its easy enought to do, backup your data to an external HDD, swap the drive (one main screw then 4 in the casing), swap the drives and turn on.

Only issue I had was I needed the latest firmware, go to the Sony website and download to a USB pen, boot up your PS3 with the USB pen in and it will load the firmware. From there connect the external HDD and install everything back on.

Mine went back to what it was with the old drive. No issues

No I had the latesr firmware on mine. Its easy enough to do, go here
