Series based on the very average 'Hooligan's Island' stage show.
They had previously said that they wouldn't do anymore until they were in their 60s when they'd get together again to do Bottom.... in an old folks home. Now that would have been worth waiting for.

I'd heard they were working on something with the characters from Bottom living in a Retirement home. I was always hoping that'd materialise.

Not sure if want...getting on for 20 years after the originals. I doubt the magic is still there.

I loved Hooligan's Island! :o

This news, combined with a new series of The Thick Of It, almost makes up for axing Shooting Stars.

With Eddie Izzard? :?

Hm....I'll give it a try but I don't hold out much hope. Vic & Bob will have to be at the top of their game to get over that hurdle.

Bottom was far better than The Young Ones, which was ruined every episode by shite music segments in the middle.

Lagamorph knows the score. Bottom was the young ones with the gooseberry fool removed.

It's because the show was classed as a 'variety' show. Rather than a sitcom.

Loved Bottom. Yay at the news of new Bottom on TV, shame it's based on old stage show material though. Bottom in old people's home sounds hi-larious.

I just fast forward the music segments in TYO. They needed those to get a bigger budget so they could smash more stuff up.

Notice how in the police lineup episode of Bottom, Richie says he was "in the thick of it" about a second before Chris Langham walks in!

If it wasnt for those musical sections, The Young Ones might.never have existed and we might never have received the following decades of slapstick violence and knob gags.
