Co-op Hitman would be AMAZING! You've put that idea in my head, and now I'll be disappointed if it doesn't make it. :(

People seem to forget at times that co-op isn't really meant to be played with strangers. It's designed to be played with a friend you can co-operate with, and when you have the right mates (both for co-op, and normal multiplayer) then they're always the best gaming experiences around.

Whats taken them so long with a new SSX game ?

It was a pretty stand out franchise with little competition.

Actually on second thoughts if they get it right it could be great. Having one player distract guards while the other sneaks through would be excellent. Or having 2 guards who need eliminating simultaneously etc. Or certain disguises that only 1 character can use. It would require very carefull game design and implementation though. Sadly im not sure they are up to the challenge.

Co-op when done properly is brilliant but the whole notion of Hitman has been the 1 unknown man killing undetected. They would have to create a co-op partner and a story to explain why 47 suddenly works with someone after being such a loner.

I'm sure these games will be unveiled at some point soon but I doubt the person who wrote that has any kind of legitimate source.

I can't wait to catch my first glimpse of the new Hitman game though.

I don't think Hitman needs co-op. 47 was able to go into the White House and assasinate the Vice President all on his own, something tells me he doesn't need a partner what so ever. Not ever game in the world needs co-op and i hope they stick to what they're good at.

The only "thing" that 47 has even remotely socialised with is his pet Budgie.

Yeah, what the hell, I've only ever played coop with a stranger when I wanted to complete RAAM on insane, when I was at uni (i.e. I had no mates available that were good enough to assist me).

Coop Hitman could be immense. Imagine seeing what your partner is doing in a mini, inset screen. You could have one of you sneaking into a control room to open a gate while the other runs through the gate.. Or something much better than that. Could be amaze, if done correctly. :D

One game mentioned in this thread will be getting Co-op, it'll probably be shown in the new trailer.

Agh, don't do that Alpha!

Hitman is the one i'm looking forward to most, of course. It really should be so much better than the last one, which was great anyway.

Someone will be angry at me if I obviously say which sequel is getting co-op this time round, they'll probably kick my Ass...

I really do hope Eidos announce a co-op Hitman, seems like all the games are putting it in now.

Hitman will definitely have co-op this time around. Co-op gameplay is perfect for the series and IO won't have forgotten the backlash when they inexplicably left online co-op out of Kane & Lynch.

It wasn't a sony beta either and if its the same game, i think some of you wil wet your pants.

Still, I don't want CO-OP. Multiplayer Vrs at this stage would be damage control IMO.

It doesn't realy make sense to 47's story to have him suddenly working side by side with someone(he's not the most social character). If they put it in i hope it doesn't compromise the single player - i.e by making certain levels ridiculously hard if you're playing on your own and not co-op.

I'm gonna put my money on there not being co-op in the next Hitman.

Just to throw a different idea into the mix, I'd actually prefer some sort of Vs mode in Hitman instead. Like up to 4 agents pitted against each other to find and eliminate the target, all the while still trying to avoid detection and trying to stay one step ahead of the competition.
Imagine the tension when two or more agents are in the same room, surrounded by members of the public or armed guards, having to weigh up the consequences of either trying to take out the competition or get past the guards without being spotted. It could be incredibly nerve-wracking as you watch each other, or it could be incredibly epic as a gunfight between two agents spills out as they try to take each other down as well as take out the guards around them!

That would be fantastic 47. Unfortunatley, I'm sure a lot of people would just run and gun everyone down. The co op would be a good idea, BUT not something that could just be tacked on, like many multiplayer modes. To get it right they would have to design the whole game from scratch, focusing on two player action. I get the feeling they wont be doing that with this Hitman. One more standard game, making use of next generation technology before moving onto something so different, I bet.

I still feel that Hitman is a single player game and its something IO have reflected in the game so theres no need for the change just give me some cool missions new weapons and new ways to kill people

I do think it needs a change though, as it really hasn't moved on that much since the original. If I'm honest, I'd rather not see any multiplayer, but I echo the sentiments earlier about a more open world approach - not like GTA, but large chunks of city in which you have free reign over where you want to go, the only details of the target you have would be certain places they visit within the area and a few choice locations for sniping or creating a more 'natural' death.

That is a brilliant idea, 47! I was thinking a co-op mode, of one agent distracting people to let another agent slip past, would be good, but a "Every Agent for himself" mode would be far, far better! It wouldn't even need the single player to be tweaked that much, as the players would provide the different gameplay styles themselves through all the different ways you can play the singleplayer itself. Special designed levels would be better, but it's not necessary.

There is a trend this generation of implement co-op into the story, but I really don't think it's needed, and it's sometimes to the detriment of the gameplay. I wouldn't care if the co-op mode had two, three, or even four identical looking 47's wandering around a level, as it's about the enjoyment of the game not about how well it fits in story.

Personally, I've no idea where the Hitman series could/should go. The open-world idea seems like a good one, but then you'd miss out on all the various locations the games all visit for each level, and the puzzle element of all the timing of guard movements and stuff would be a lot harder to do. I don't think there is actually anything wrong with the current Hitman level setup, it's the gameplay and AI that needs to move forward.
