Anyone else think blonde Tilly was kind of hot?

I think this episode made me realise just how gooseberry fool some of the normal universe characters are. All the alternate characters, or when they were playing at alternate characters, seemed so much more interesting. Tilly actually seemed interesting rather than the rom com side kick she normally is. Burnham pretending to be AU Burnham seemed much more exciting, as did Tyler getting to grips with who he really is.

The story was disappointing though, but I suppose that's the nature of a two parter in a weekly series. If every episode was available now it probably would improve my perception of it as you wouldn't be strung along for so long waiting for a disappointing payoff.

I'd quite like it if they'd do the occasional 'standalone' episode as so far the show hasn't really felt very Star Trek ish - TNG had some great self contained episodes that really helped make it feel like things were happening on a galactic scale whereas Discovery seems to be on a much smaller scale, I suppose that might be because the Discovery itself has a more focused wartime mission than the Enterprise does with its peaceful exploratory aims .

You sure that's a test shot. Looks like the episode called Violations where the Ullians helped people remember things. But one of them got a bit rapey and mind raped people. Dr Crusher kept remembering when her and Picard id'd her hubby -jack's - body. Picard was wearing a weird (presumably medical) thing on the side of his face in that scene. He seems to have that on in the photo.

Could be wrong mind.

Not a great episode. Kinda stupid in some ways.

I never thought I would say this but I want Rick Berman and Brannon Braga back. They at least understood the continuity and Canon. This series feels too detached from the prime time line.

Woah, let's not say things we can't take back. Braga is a hack.

He's doing well on the Orville though!

I thought the ending of the last episode was strawberry floating ridiculous. The episode before the season break was great, they really didn't deliver on a good followup.

What’s up with the Orville? I’ve been enjoying it.

Orville pretty good.

Pilot has too much humour (mostly ill judged)

It falls away pretty easily - apart from one painful episode

I’m loving The Orville as well. They have definitely toned down the humour as it goes along and by the looks of it that will be the same for the secon season. I think the last few episodes have been about right with the humour though.

What I'd like to know is
why didn't anyone seem to notice or care about the doctor who'd just been killed? Is the sickbay just him and nobody else goes in now and then?

I am really growing to love the title music as it's just so Star Trek.

I don't know what's better entertainment, this excellent season of science-fiction television or all the Trekkers getting bumpain about continuity.

It's the show. It's good.

Wasn't the best start to the season, the start of the ep was extremely rushed and I do agree with a lot of Hexx's points, but it's set up a really interesting arc.

I hope it is. Because they could do a lot of cool stuff with this.
