I'm a massive Trek fan so I'm going to stick with it no matter what but even I admit it's a bit ropy.
The dark setting is just taken to places I really don't think Trek needs to go to and I feel The Orville shows that a program with a much more positive aspect can still do well.

Nothing about the series shows humanity growing or becoming what they become in Next Gen and that's just a huge shame. Yes, I'll continue to watch it and I may indeed come to love it but at the moment it's just not clicking with me.

I’ve just realised the actor who plays the Klingon agent is Clem Fandango from Toast of London. This will amuse me endlessly, and I now want a guest appearance from Matt Berry.

Voyager was a dumpster fire of a show.

This episode is better than every single TNG episode and film put together.

Maybe this is what helps Tilly find her confidence, and helps her develop into a full Starfleet officer, and get on the road to command. And maybe she also keeps her hair straight and down, because that's a good look for her.

I will never forgive Voyager for ruining The Borg.

They were supposed to be the mysterious, unstoppable bad guys you bring out a few times a decade not a strawberry floating member of the bloody crew.
I don't care how good she became in later series 7of9 had no place being in the show.

Anyone notice that in the Mycelial Network version of engineering, the dedication plaque says "USS Stamets"?

Episode spoiler

Lorca is.....MIRROR LORCA!

Turns out all Terrans are sensitive to light! When Burnham is told this heavy handedly, she flashes back to all of Lorca's heavy handed hints

Yeah, it was ridiculously heavy handed on the reveal, but it was still a decent episode. Proper belly laugh at the meal scene too.

They were eating a prisoner who Micheal had been forced to unknowingly select. She was almost gagging when she was asked to try a bit of his brain.
