‘Star Trek: Discovery’ Gets Order Increase & Companion Show On CBS All Access

Start Trek: Discovery‘s first season on CBS All Access will consist of 15 episodes, up from the 13 originally commissioned. In addition to the order increase, Star Trek: Discovery will be getting a companion show, Talking Trek.

After some delays, Star Trek: Discovery, currently filming its sixth episode, is on track for a fall launch with a premiere on CBS.

The announcement was made during CBS’s upfront presentation, where the first trailer for Star Trek: Discovery made its debut. We will post it as soon as it’s available.

Star Trek: Discovery will debut Sunday, September 24, with a special broadcast premiere on the CBS TV network airing 8:30-9:30 PM. The first as well as the second episode of the sci-fi series will be available on-demand on CBS All Access immediately following the broadcast premiere, with subsequent new episodes released on All Access each Sunday.

The expanded season now will be split into two. The first eight episodes will run Sundays from September 24 through November 5. The season then will resume with the second chapter in January 2018.

Plot
The Dirty Dozen goes interstellar in this exciting new ongoing Sci Fi series about a group of rogues, rebels, and outcasts who find themselves faced with the greatest threat the Confederation has ever encountered. With a man known only as the Admiral (Walter Koenig) heading up Confederation Intelligence and Kovok (Tim Russ) a part of the Confederation's clandestine Black Ops organization, they recruit Captain Lexxa Singh (Adrienne Wilkinson) and her rogue crew to do those missions that no one else can or will do.

When the Confederation is threatened and standard protocol won’t work, it is up to this rag-tag group of Renegades to save them all.
