Let's go to the 29th century! Bring Back Braxton!

A Star Trek show based solely on time travel...just no.

First order of business, stop the Abrams timeline from happening.

Ocarina that gooseberry fool up. Young Captain Whatshisface has to defeat several warlords, periodically hopping forward and back in time thereafter to knock off some more, with a view to liberating the Something Quadrant and exploring some of the Over There By the Spacetime Burgers quadrant. Time travel ages him forward and back, leading to his turning into a strawberry floating bowl of pudding by the close of series 3, which is just fine as the ratings of the show plummeted after Sexy Officer #2 left the show for some indie hipster crapfest.

Maybe having more than one main ship/mission would be an idea. DS9 had both the station and the Defiant, and regularly had the cast spread across quadrants advancing several main storylines. That, mixed in with some high level San Francisco stuff that we don't really see in the shows (bar the occasional Skype call), could work quite well. Could have different sorts of objectives for each crew, show off more of the galaxy, and culminate in a sort of Federation civil war scenario with a mix of clashing admirals and clandestine Section 31-ery.

Trek of Thrones.

They should set it in the 1960's just to confuse the heck out of everyone.
Have a ship that's been sent back in time and can't visit earth unless under ultra heavy cover to avoid timeline contamination but for spurious reasons they keep going to earth anyway.

So you want a Star Trek version of Battlestar Galactica 1980?

I never watched it so I'm claiming it's a new idea I just made up :shifty: .

Have a fleet of Ark Ships, sent into the future to repopulate Earth following a global disaster renders it temporarily off limits. Show follows one ship, sent careening a few galaxies away by an unexpected solar flare, and chronicles their long journey home. Would be reminiscent of Stargate Universe, but with a strong Star Trek bent.

Sounds too much like a re-hash of Voyager really.

I like to think it'd be like Voyager meets SGU, BSG and Farscape, with the fearless resolve to kill off as many main characters as possible of a George R. R. Martin work.

I have a feeling this will be set in the new universe based on Fuller's comments about want to return to the spirit of the original series. I'm okay with that as long as it's not taken as an excuse to rehash old storylines and characters like Into Darkness attempted. A modern take on TOS era trek could be awesome if handled correctly, and unlike Enterprise it wouldn't have the burden of having to mesh with the sprawling TNG era universe.

I'm excited for a new Star Trek TV show no matter what form it takes though. I just hope it's good!

The new logo makes me think it's going to be set in the prime Universe, post-Nemesis.

Fuller details to come at Comic-con, but first season to be 13 episodes long.

I’ve read that we’re [set] before “Next Generation,” after [“Star Trek VI: The] Undiscovered Country,” which is false.
I’ve read that it’s an anthology show, which is not accurate. So it’s interesting to see those suggestions, and seeing the truth mixed in with them and going like, “Oh, they got that part right…”

MOVIEFONE: Would you like to revisit any characters? Is there a window open to bring in characters that have been established in the canon?
FULLER: Eventually. Eventually.

Obviously not...but what if it was a USS Stargazer based series?
