Again, I thought this mostly was above-par for the series but not great in any absolute sense. Saying that, magical spore vision quest was too dumb for me to overlook -- it's not that it was a bit magic (Star Trek has always had that...) but that it broke my suspension and to me it properly felt like they were just making stuff up.

Have a feeling it's a set up either a genuinely good or a thoroughly shite next episode -- interested to see which it'll be, at least.

Didn't look like him.

There seems to be a lot of eating other sapient beings going on in this show, the Klingons ate Giorghiu after they killed her in ep1.

Enjoyed it again this week. Really want to see where it's going next week.

That last episode was just nonsensical. Saying that, I will probably tune in again next week. It's like a strange type of stockholm syndrome.

The Klingons are still utterly gooseberry fool in this. They haven't done a good job with them at all.

I think if they had just straight up cut the mushroom vision quest plot-line and spent a little longer on the empress and Mirror Lorca it would have been a solid ep.

I actually liked Saru manning up and just beaming Tyler into the cell with whatshername Klingon girl. Thought it was both a badass idea and still believable from Saru.

Saru kind of reminds me of Data.

Both are usually calm and collected but can be a badass if the situation requires it.

It was a clever solution to what to do with him that was humane and took the pressure off the crew to look after him. I'm assuming she's under pretty heavy surveillance so any communication between them could also be monitored.

I'm quite excited at what they'll do with the Emperor now she's in our universe and how they plan to rewrite the timeline to the federation isn't screwed.

With the craziness so far I wouldn't be surprised if they went back in time and it turned out the Georgiou that died in the beginning was actually the emperor.

Can't believe she saved her. She's a mass murderer...all they can do is lock her up in the brig

Thought it was quite disappointing that they turned Lorca from an interesting anti-hero into a generic fascist villain. He was a really compelling captain who disagreed with Star Fleet's shiny, by the book idealism just enough to make a difference but toed the line just enough to stay good... but now he's some reductive megalomaniac caricature. Seems like a very strange direction to take the character.

I suspect that’s not the last we’ve seen of him, Wrathy.

That criticism aside(I agree with it), I thought the last episode was really good. I’ve enjoyed the whole season - it’s not without its flaws but it has been good, compelling TV.

Oh, absolutely - I'd be totally unsurprised if he ends up being a recurring villain or something. You dont have an off screen, unverified death where you also become part of the magic dust that permeates across the multi universe with a deliberate shot showing an unmistakeable drop on Tilly (side note: please please please keep straightening your hair Tilly....) and then just disappear lmao

She should definitely keep the straight hair

I think it's pretty obvious she's going to be the new captain and make her name of Captain Killy stick as she single handedly defeats the Klingons and return the Federation to power.

I thought this week's episode was absolutely dire. Literally made no sense, some of the worst fight scenes I have seen and an utterly appalling attempt at an allegory on the current political situation. It was cringeworthy.

Is that the same fight scenes hat have been getting nearly universal praise? :slol:
