I don't think so. I think the first 2 episodes are coming on Monday, then 1 episode weekly after that.

Its 15 episodes in total, split into two parts.

First 8 episodes run to the 6th of November and then the final 7 episodes will air from January.

Reviews are coming in

General feeling seems to be not the disaster some expected and a very promising start (although by no means perfect)

Will watch the second later but I enjoyed that

If you can accept that looks (races, ships, technology) very different then I think you'll be ok.

Its 'modern' it it's execution - this isn't TNG, DS9 or VOY 2.

Based in the first episode though it stays true to Trek's ideas. Nothing overly heavy but there's sincere talks about explore vs fight and so on. Enough that it feels more than lip service. I could see these characters doing Measure of a Man etc style sci fi episodes.

it looks lush too.

Its a pilot - so far only 3 or so characters have been much developed (I'm not sure how long one of them will last ;)) but they're well acted and presented. It's not the best thing ever but it's solid

Its a pilot. It works. There's a bit too much 'as you.know...' dialogue though / certainly in first planet ;(

The most stupid bit is in the titles - does its is thing and then in last 10 second evifreky chanded style to tack on 'Star Trek' theme

Really impressed with this, which is a surprise as I was expecting it to be a disaster. Visually it is astonishing and as Hexx says it is its own thing, with tiny little nods to almost all the other series. You have to forgive the change in design to the Klingons, I don't think they need to retcon anything other than to say that special effects/makeup has moved on massively since the last redesign in the 70s/80s.

I prefer this a million times over the reboot films.

Episode 2 spoiler: I guessed the captain would die from the opening scene. I wonder if Michael becomes a captain now or if they will go with the early reports of her being busted down to lieutenant.
Life imprisonment feels a bit extreme, although I believe execution was also a form of punishment in TOS that the federation would dish out!

Happy enough with that.

It's different, far more modern, but still "Trek" at the same time. We'll see how it all unfolds over the next few months, but so far I'm happy to keep watching.

Yep, thumbs up from me too. Haven't watched a Trek since TNG, but it was pretty newcomer friendly. Will watch episode 2 tomorrow.

I enjoyed the first episode - thought that the new main character seems like a bit of a tool but we'll see what her arc is like.

Just sitting down to watch this, I was expecting it to be in 4K. Really surprised it isn't.

It has Dolby Vision, though.

Definitely enjoyed that.

Have to say though, it's my least favourite opening theme. It's just so....bland and uninspiring.

It's better than chuffin' Faith of the Heart :P

I HATE the last 10 seconds or so (after the logo). Shoehorned in 'Star Trek' theme totally out of place. Eurgh

Nah. Say what you want about the Enterprise opening but it's theme at least had a sense of discovery and exploration about it that works with the series (well, for series 1 and 2 at least, the 3 and 4 remix was just abyssmal).

Faith of the Heart is so gooseberry fool.

I'm going to watch this tonight. Looking forward to it.

Didn't mind the theme but it did sound a bit too similar to the crap new movie theme, and the title sequence itself felt like a copy of a lot of the modern ones like Daredevil for example.

The battle sequences were okay, but I'm a bit disappointed that they stayed with the reboot's pulse phasers, and we didn't see any torpedoes. Reminds me of the hunter-killer laser fire from Terminator, for some reason.
