Post"New Style" Xbox 360 controllers

I'm after a new 360 wireless controller for my PC, so I can play more two player stuff without my friends having to bring their own pads. I heard that there was a new 360 controller out with a redesigned D-pad. Such a d-pad would make playing games on MAME a lot easier, as well as stuff like The Pinball Arcade where you have to use the d-pad for menu navigation. Do all the controllers for sale (obviously excluding preowned) have this new style of D-pad?

I was looking to just buy this from amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Official-Xbox-3 ... 2_edpp_url

Any advice is appreciated.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

IIRC the chrome silver 360 controller was the first to include a twisting D-pad. A quick look at the reviews on Amazon leads me to believe that the twisty pad is included in all chrome controllers as a review for the chrome red variation of the controller to which you linked mentions the twisting D-pad. Furthermore, the product description for the chrome gold controller mentions the transforming D-pad.

Were they not meant to be adding xbox one joypad support to windows? Xbox one dpad is pretty good.

As far as I know if the d-pad is chromed it's the twistable d-pad so this looks your best best bet:

I have one with a twisty pad. Opinions and all that, it's slightly better but not exactly amazing. Still worth it if you're already in the market for a pad.
