Quite funny, the Steam version of Team Fortress 2 has over 170 steam achievements, with many more to come.

The TF2 achievements are awful and in some cases impede your enjoyment of the game. Thankfully you can easily find servers which will instantly award you every one.

What's the strawberry floating difference?

It's cooler to hate Sony stuff.

Plus trophies are poo.

They just don't have the same feeling of reward behind them, and only having 4 types is very limiting.

Actually I enjoy the achievements, how on earth do they impede your enjoyment. PS. If you use achievement servers you're a god damn idiot

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Although it's very rare for me to go out of my way to get achievements, almost all have my twenty-odd thousand have come from just playing the games as I normally would, I will sometimes look through a game's achievements and see if there's any fun ones worth having a go at, I think they're a good way of expanding a game beyond the main story.

See I get putting a cap on the amount of gamerscore you can get on a single game to stop developers going over the top but I don't understand why there is a limit on the number of achievements you can get in a game if they all add up to the maximum gamerscore. If anything I would have a lower limit to stop games like Avatar and to encourage developers to think of creative achievements to put into their games.

Should have stuck at 1000 to be honest, although I can see why they would break that. I can't help thinking that as soon as the next Halo expansion comes out they'll change their minds again. I'm more annoyed at the games that don't have 1000 (Condemned, LOTR: BFME) or that have broken achievements. To be honest, they should have just put me in charge.

Re the rules - I'm not that bothered about limits. Knowing that if I've 600 or 700'd a game (without DLC) means I've done two thirds of everything the programmers wanted to set me as a challenge to do, and more than likely I will have completed the main game, maybe with a few extra things that don't affect the game (e.g. replaying on a higher difficulty level)
