New Year, New Grcade

What are your New Year Resolutions?

For me, it's to lose weight and get fit again. Thanks to sprained ankles last year I really fell off the wagon. This year I'm aiming to lose 2 stone by my mate's wedding at the start of June, so 1-2 pounds a week.

I started with a run yesterday and also turned down dessert. I'm not sure which hurt more.

Same as always:

  • Two chicks at the same time - a good friend gave me some advice the other day, to "Believe and Achieve!". It's happening in 2023 :datass:
  • Loose weight and get into shape. I wanna look like Peter Quill when he's topless in the prison by Christmas.

... Believe and achieve!

EDIT: me, after having sex with two chicks at the same time later in the year:

It obviously works for David "Up to my knees in pussy" Dickinson.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Going to get a running coach to help with the training and strength side
Start to work back to my old times

Get properly physically fit again. A never ending stream of on off illness in the back half of the year killed off my consistent exercise, so I really want to get back to 3 mornings a week running minimum.

Finish off the music I've been making over the past few years, properly mix it and make and album. I'll have this made up as a properly manufactured CD with artwork and everything and give it away.

I can understand not going for 8K or 4K, but you must be on 1080p at least?

Same as always...
Get fit again - back in the shape I was 6 years ago,
Drink more water,
Sleep more,
Do more stuff / be more social.

Thing is, I really enjoy exercise but I don't have time any more. Will need to be super organised to get it sorted.

Try harder at work. Not for the organisation, more for myself and my own self-worth.

I've decided not to overcommit this year, and have only gone for 2 resolutions.

1. Have all the problems in my life magically fix themselves.
2. Live happily ever after.

Mine's to stand up for myself more.

My health at the moment isn't good. Part of that is being ignored by healthcare professionals. I'll tell them what I need for my lymphoedema, (what has worked before and been recommended by another healthcare professional in a higher role) and they'll still go their own route, telling me that I'm wrong. I've got another appointment in a month. I've got proof they've messed up this time by not listening and so I'm going to stand my ground till they actually listen. I'm really concerned that I'll be ignored yet again though.

I’ve got a few, this year.

- Get fit and healthy, not just by losing a bit of weight but also by trying to sort my head out. 2022 really messed with me so I’d very much like to make 2023, you know, not awful.
- With that said, I need to be more physically fit, so I’d like to do 20 park runs starting this weekend. Also at least two gym sessions per week and starting now, only one ordered in meal per month.
- Need to hugely branch out at work, so hoping to get a second book deal, have another academic article go through peer review and, all going well, have another two chapters in edited collections finished by the end of the year.

I think those are the main three. Maybe get a permanent job, or secure a bit of research funding, but we’ll see how we go.

I've not set any formal resolutions. I have to get into work soon, though. I need to get my life back on track.

Focusing on my career this year for me, starting up my AAT’s so I want to get a decent way into that this year. Already an Assistant Accountant so I also aim to learn as much as I can from my manager to just bolster my knowledge.

Gotta finish the level. Then read those, do some sit-ups, learn the clarinet.
