I don't tend to celebrate that as you can only be 21 so many times. I'm OK with celebrating things like Christmas, Easter and family birthdays as I know what I'm actually celebrating.

You're celebrating the wrong birthday of a messiah, the anniversary (the date of which changes every year) of the death of the messiah and your family being 21 over and over again?

Yeah that makes more sense than people enjoying time with family and friends at the end of the year.

End of what year? End of when someone started recording time 2016 years ago but no bearing on when the world began. That too makes a lot of sense.

Why not just enjoy your own celebrations rather than questioning mine.

Not going anywhere Glasgow city centre because they've rather stupidly scheduled an Old Firm for the early afternoon. A night dedicated to getting plastered plus one of the most violent derbies in football is going to end in tears.

Still can't believe they've done this. The police are going to have a strawberry floating field day

Your argument on recording time go for the celebrations that you celebrate as well.

I responded to your "why bother, it's just another day" post. Apologies if you feel that's questioning your celebrations, I was explaining why people might enjoy New Years Eve and why that's no sillier than Christmas or a birthday.

If you reread my original post you will see I was questioning why I would celebrate it, not why others choose to. No need to defend your own choice of celebrations.

Still unsure, I'll definitely be partying but I've left my best substances on the continent, including the requisite Xanax if I'm going hard on something like MD. So maybe quite a quiet one, had some of the best nights of my life on New Years but it's definitely not as exciting now I'm a bit older and in a relationship so no chance of girls.

Going up to stay with my friend from Bristol. She usually invites over all her friends and asks them to bring different vegan food they have made. Then we play games and chat, it's nice, should be better this year since it was my first time meeting almost everyone last year.

Off to central London to watch the fireworks. Hopefully I don't get blown up. Love you all.
