Main screen? It only has one screen. The touchpad on the back obviously isn't a display.

The main screen, as in: where the action happens. Sorry for the confusion.

Now, can you answer the question?

A touchscreen is a screen? Like, it displays video. That's the only difference.

A touchpad is like a laptop trackpad.

Screen is touch, there is a front and rear touch pad. Which is like a laptop touch pad.

So are we going to have a guess the price thread. Suzz is probably right in thinking Sony see this as an iPad competitor so I'm going to guess £439.

Yeah, I think it's a really good move by Sony to potentially release their games on SD/proprietary cards.

I honestly expect £300. Plus my data package at £10 a month.

Why do people think it's going to compete with the iPad? There's already Android tablets :shifty:

Or is it just that Nintendo and Sony handhelds can't compete with each other anymore, so they both need to go after different Apple products?

The PS4 is going to whup the iMac. I'm calling it.

Not competing. I think appealing to that demographic is where this could go. It will have us gamers too, but also that market. Not the expanded DS market.

Because the dedicated handheld market will undoubtedly disappear at some point. If Sony/Nintendo want to stay relevant they need to adapt to changing markets.

Very nice, although I'm worried about the price. Sony appear to be just repeating the same tactic as last time, but the market is completely different now so they could manage to pull it off if they market it right.

The rear touch pad is such an interesting idea too. GIVE ME A DEV KIT SONY!

If they charge a monthly fee...I'm out.

£350-£400 at launch.

Of course being a Sony system it'll be down to £250 within a year.

That would come for 3G like an iPad. It's not going to be something you have to have. My wife has a good plan with the iPad on Orange for 3GB and unlimited BT Open zone for £15 a month.
