I don't think it's the ones currently there, but new ports. Which means the ones you've already bought probably need to be repurchased as an "Android version".

It's interesting that they didn't talk about media capabilities, or storage. This is a game machine first and foremost.

Well then the PSone downloads became much less interesting to me.

I'm not paying a monthly fee. I'd be fine if they went down the Live route and you needed a subscription for online play but the games worked fine offline without it (with free game updates) but if this needs a monthly fee to work then I'm out.

I'll be interested to hear what Ready at Dawn are doing.

So now the curtain has been lifted I presume journalists will now be given access to it and we may get some official screenshots and up close impressions soon?

I don't know much about Nihilistic but Sony Bend are an excellent studio.

Someone said it was ND doing the Uncharted game.

Really? Sony Bend pretty much described the game in job listings.

They aren't Naughty Dog though are they, thats what makes Uncharted so good, not just that its Uncharted.

On the subject of the monthly fee for 3G. The Kindle doesn't have a monthly fee. Granted its generally not pulling as much data as this presumably will, but a monthly fee would kill the system for a lot of people.

It isn't needed though, I'll only get it so I can browse online and download comics, whilst I commute. Other wise it isn't needed at all. You still have Wi-Fi.

I have a question.

Can you play any PS3 games on PSP2? Can you continue playing game from PS3 game (saved game PS3 to PSP2 and vice versa)?

I don't think thats the case. You can bet there will be GPS and 3G features in the games that they make.

How are they going to distribute games if they've ditched the UMD?

Not by right, but Hideo Kojima was talking along those lines and said he'd have something to show at E3.

On flash memory cards that go in a slot at the top of the system and replace UMD.

If they charge a monthly fee...I'm out.

£350-£400 at launch.

Of course being a Sony system it'll be down to £250 within a year.

That would come for 3G like an iPad. It's not going to be something you have to have. My wife has a good plan with the iPad on Orange for 3GB and unlimited BT Open zone for £15 a month.

3GB is strawberry float all if you're downloading full NGP games.

Until LTE shows up I doubt anyone would even attempt that sort of download on a 3G connection.

I don't like name 'NGP'. It'd stay PSP2 - everyone heard of PlayStation brand.

Cool. I was worried they were going to go down the PSPGo route of download only.

Indeed. No way are you going to be downloading full games. The 3G will be for connection whilst out and about, not for game downloads.

That is good news. A massive reduction in load times, and an increase in battery life. As Flash memory becomes cheaper, it becomes more viable as a storage medium for games. We may yet see a return to cartridges in home systems!
