Nah. Both 3DS and PSP2 will be fine.

Apparently PlayStation might be the final name.

Just 'PlayStation'?

NGP pricing is also yet to be revealed, but Eurogamer was told this morning that Sony will "make a loss".

After the PS3, how in the hell did they convince Sony bosses to do this?

I just can't understand the logic of making yet another handheld at a loss ????? baffling.

Impressive spec'd machine no doubt, my only concern is 3G.

I'm not sure why they bothered, as frankly I've found 3G to be about as reliable as an alcoholic dad on parents evening.

The thought of actually playing a game over 3G seems like the stuff of dreams to me. I live just outside London, and travel into London and across the entirety of the south on a regular basis and have found 3G to be absolutely rubbish. And That's across multiple devices. (laptop, iPhone, n96)

No doubt japan and the rest of the world experience rock solid high speed 3G 24/7, but the thought of trying to play a game over here in blighty on 3G gives me cold sweats.

It's 3 hours with everything at max, 5 with everything on low, according to the Nintendo engineers.

Interestingly, the biggest drain on the DS battery by a mile is the backlight for the screen, which the NGP screen doesn't need at all.

No meltdowns over the battery life like in the 3DS thread?

Yeah 3G is fine for fast web browsing, streaming etc, but I'm not sure how well it works for online gaming. 3G coverage here in the UK is still nowhere near as good as it should be.

I know that Brer on here uses mobile internet for Xbox Live, or at least he used to when we played Bad Company 2 a few times. Dunno what his lag and ping were like.

EDIT: that cameraman  Couldn't they use direct feed footage? Imagine if he dropped the camera on the PSP.

Just checking Kotaku, it can apparently do 8 hours for standard DS games.

Well considering it is pretty much the same and a lot more powerful, I'm ok with it. I'm ok with 3DS battery too.

Also I doubt 3G will be used for anything beyond browsing and download 50mb files.

I could spent hours playing with my NIPPLES.

It'd make for a great marketing campaign, no?

I play with my NIPPLES on the bus.
I like that I can touch my NIPPLES from the front and the back!
I get my NIPPLES out whenever I'm on a train.
Great - now I can play Uncharted with my NIPPLES.

We play with our NIPPLES together!

Its a games machine, to suggest games won't use it is a nonsense.

Why? What could 3G do with it beyond GPS? You still have Wi-Fi for online, why anyone would game on 3G is beyond me. The connections in this country are gooseberry fool.
