Next hardware purchase?

With the consoles all now being middle age what hardware are you expecting to buy next?

I'm thinking of waiting for the next gen Xbox as the more news I see about PS5 Pro the less I think it makes sense.
The new Switch could come into my thinking as the leap in that hardware should be pretty insane given how long the Switch has been going.

I think the next 4 years should be pretty cheap for hardware as I'm not a PC gamer and I'm happy with the PS5 and XSX.

Switch 2 Day 1.

I hope I don't buy a PS4 Pro because I really don't think it's needed. But I also know what I'm like :fp:

I will be single format only for any future hardware. I'd like to get the PS5 Pro and I'll be saving up for it; but I don't anticipate getting one for some time.

There's absolutely no reason why I'd need a Pro, though; I have barely used my PS5 :slol:

Have you looked into the other PC handhelds or are you pretty much sold on the idea of the Steam Deck?

TBH, I’ve not looked into any of the others since, so far at least, Steam Deck is giving me everything I was looking for. I’m happy with it and will definitely look out for the next model but might see what the market is like by then.

Will either be Switch 2, Deck 2 or PC upgrade.

If Deck 2 is announced within two years, it'll likely be that first.

I’ll probably get the next Xbox as I currently have about £450 in reward points to use up and it’ll probably be twice that in credit by the time the console comes out.

Otherwise recently I’ve been close to buying a Quest 2 for my PC so I can play though HL Alyx

I've never been so down on gaming as I am now.

New console fever might help me get back into it and I'd say that Nintendo's new offering would be the front-runner given my daughter loves Animal Crossing.

I have PS5 but regret buying it as I couldve played FIFA and Fire Pro Wrestling on my old PS4 absolutely fine.

Half-finished games and micro-transactions really killed my enthusiasm for games.

Probably a Switch 2 at this point, depending on how far out it is.

I'm planning some PC upgrades in the next year as well - GPU is nearly 5 years old at this point, so that might get in first.

I hadn't really enjoyed console gaming since the end of the GC/PS2/XB era until the Switch came along so Switch 2 is a day 1 purchase for me.

I may upgrade my GPU in the next year if whatever AMD or Nvidia offer next doesn't feel like a total rip-off.

Then do it. People pay more for shitty deluxe tat editions of average games. Alyx is top tier gaming / experience in my mind.

Probably whatever follows the Switch provided it is backwards compatible. Would be interested in an Xbox handheld too but feels that would’ve happened by now if it was ever going to happen.
