I’m on holiday and missed it, my brother said it was the best ending to a game he’s ever seen. :(

The goal line madness was quite the spectacle. Never seen such crazy swings in a game.

Who's watching the game between Bengals and Bills?

The Bengals are looking good.

Been waiting for a snow game on Sky, so great to get one right at the end here.

Not so sure about this initiative from Sky to broadcast from a bar in Manchester. Audio was pants yesterday. And by the time the second game had started, they’d all buggered off to bed so viewers had to make do with just the US feed with filler material during the breaks.

It really was gooseberry fool, I Redzone for the regular season so only get the studio crew for the playoffs and pissing off to the pub for it didnt seem the best idea. They brought the crowd to them before didnt they? Had a section of fans in studio to do the whole crowd reaction ask questions thing which Im guessing was the point of the excursion to Manchester.

The Eagles are winning at the moment.

I think it'll be Eagles v Bengals in Super Bowl.

Sky Sports have got the Pro Bowl from ESPN. Commentary is from a (more subdued) Pat McAfee, which is slightly surreal as a WWE viewer.

Realised today that the Superbowl coverage is on ITV this year :dread: :dread: :dread:

At least the presenting team sound okay, although I dread to think how many breaks there'll be and/or technical issues.

I’ve usually cancelled Sky Sports by this point but I’ve kept it on this year because for the past couple of London games ITV have used their own in-house British commentators rather than the US feed, and they’re absolutely rotten. I couldn’t bear the thought of having to put up with them for the Super Bowl. Hopefully they’ve finally seen sense but it’s ITV so you never know…

Urgh, I didn't even mention the commentary because I just assumed it'd be a US feed with US commentary. If it's an ITV team it'll undoubtedly be awful :dread:

Damn, that's really dampened my enthusiasm for watching it now  :fp:

While watching the 6 Nations at the weekend I discovered that Virgin Media (theyre a terrestrial TV channel over here) are showing the Superbowl this year so Ill check that out, not idea what the coverage will be like, hoping itll just be the American feed with reduced ads but we shall see.

Super Bowl LVII coverage featuring Laura, Jason and Osi in Phoenix will start on ITV from 10:45pm on Sunday, February 12. Maurice Jones-Drew will also join the team as well plus commentary will come from Darren Fletcher and Jack Crawford.

:dread: :fp:

You just know that when ITV get the rights to coverage for something that they'll find a way to strawberry float things up.

It is amazing that all they need to do is leave it alone, why spend extra money to make a worse thing? Im assuming the thinking is that the Superbowl will attract a casual audience so having a familiar voice who might explain things more is needed? But then its been tried and failed every time so why still bother.

99% of the audience hated their commentary on the London games, universal complaints, and yet they're sticking with it. It's not like Darren Fletcher and Jack Crawford have any chemistry together either. Awkward silences, horrible banter, that need to talk about the 'great atmosphere' because they can't think of anything else to say...it was horrible. If it wasn't for that misguided effort from Sky Sports having the kids doing commentary on the Premier League, it would rank as the worst commentary duo for anything that I've heard all year.

BBC, Channel 4 and 5 show NFL and it's absolutely fine; ITV gets hold of it, get the in-studio stuff right, and then somehow manage to cock-up the most important bit.

Honestly, I could probably sit here writing 30 paragraphs just ranting about ITV. :fp: I'm not surprised Susanna Reid allegedly threw a wobbly and said they're all strawberry floating useless in production. BECAUSE THEY ARE. Across the board. Please, just stick to Love Island and Emmerdale Street.

If you don't have Sky Sports, NFL Game Pass also has the Super Bowl Live and on-demand available for 99p (month's access), including the US commercials: https://www.nflgamepass.com/en/subscrib ... lsrc=aw.ds

For the 2023/24 season onwards, the NFL Game Pass app will be closing and folded in to DAZN, NFL having signed a 10 year deal with them for international coverage:

NFL Game Pass International provides fans outside the United States live viewing of every NFL game – regular season, postseason, and Super Bowl, and will be available as a standalone subscription or add-on package within DAZN’s app.

The National Football League (NFL) and DAZN Group have agreed to a 10-year partnership to deliver NFL Game Pass International (NFL GPI) to sports fans around the world beginning with the 2023 season.

NFL GPI enables fans outside the USA to watch every NFL matchup throughout the regular season and postseason, including the world’s largest annual sporting event, the Super Bowl.

The world’s leading digital sports streaming service, DAZN is available on most connected devices, including Smart TVs, smartphones, tablets, and game consoles. NFL GPI will be available through the DAZN app either as a standalone subscription or an add-on to an existing DAZN package to customers worldwide, excluding China.

With access to DAZN’s direct-to-consumer platform – including its powerful data-driven technology, global distribution network and marketing capabilities – the NFL will be able to grow and engage new audiences over the next decade, building on its growing international fan community.

“Growing the NFL globally is a key strategic priority for the League and our 32 Clubs. We are excited to partner with DAZN to help us accelerate this effort,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

“Our goal has always been to make our games available to as many fans as possible, and we are confident that DAZN’s innovative viewing experience technology will best serve millions of viewers around the world while also engaging a new generation of international NFL fans.”

“The NFL is the premier sports media property, and DAZN is incredibly excited that they have chosen us as their international partner,” DAZN CEO Shay Segev said.

“DAZN is the only company that is single-mindedly focused on delivering the very best digital experience for sports fans worldwide and I am confident that we will deliver a superb experience for NFL fans, while helping the league engage new markets and demographics in the sporting phenomenon that is NFL.

"We can’t wait to bring all the drama, passion and excitement that the NFL is renowned for to our customers as we continue to build the ultimate global destination for sports fans.”

NFL GPI offers fans access to live games, events, NFL Network, NFL RedZone, and an extensive library of NFL Films and NFL Media programming, with everything available on-demand to ensure the NFL is connecting with fans in all time zones through its video content.

The NFL and DAZN will work together to drive international distribution through third-party services and offerings.

This deal expands on a long-standing partnership between the NFL and DAZN, with DAZN distributing NFL Game Pass in Canada since 2017 and as a broadcast partner in Germany, Italy and Japan – since 2016, 2018 and 2016, respectively.

I believe Sky Sports' contract runs until 2024/25, so doubtful there will be any current changes to their coverage. Not sure if Sky's NFL games will continue to be blacked out on DAZN though (would presume so).

ITV has announced tonight that the on-demand airings of the Super Bowl on ITVX won’t include the Rihanna half time performance due to rights reasons beyond their control (strange how the BBC never had any problems). I’m sure it’ll be on DailyMotion or YouTube somewhere though…briefly.

Is anyone going to be trying to stay up tonight to watch the Super Bowl? I always give it a go every year but normally fall asleep by the end of the first quarter

I'll be rooting for the Eagles to win, purely because as a kid I had an Eagles pennant which my dad got me on a trip to the US once, so I guess they're my second team. Tenuous link is tenuous.

Go Eagles! :toot:
