Played an hour or so of this today.

Rest at a place that replenishes health and respawns enemies? Check.

Learn to memorise enemies patterns and wail on them? Check.

Loot. Everywhere? Check.

Think im gonna like this.

Nobody playing this? :(

Its strawberry floating awesome. Much more complex than dark souls, loot wise, the action, fighting etc is very bloodborne like and if anything a little faster.

I'm 3 bosses in, but with NieR, Horizon, Zelda, Mass Effect and Persona all being such massive time sinks, I'm forced to relegate Nioh to being something I just chip away at in the background while I play through the others

Yeah, it's come at a bad time for me. I'm only just playing through the original Dark Souls, and still have 2 and 3 to play. Plus the Switch is next week so I didn't want to drop £40 on a new game.

I'll get it when it's £20 in a digital sale probably. Got my eye on it though and glad it's been well received.

I'm playing it, think I'm a little over half way through (maybe a bit more).

It's infuriatingly harsh at some points, half the problem is that there is too much stuff to do.

I know someone who's really in to Souls/Bloodborne and according to him it doesn't compare. The systems are too prone to being abused and its not as skill based as Souls apparently.

Its not as good as souls or bb Hugo. But i dont think it ever was going to be. It is very complicated loot/crafting wise. And theres plenty to learn. Different to souls is that your little inner guide monster helps and gives tips which helps you prepare. Its an excellent excellent game and will easily keep me occupied. Ive just hit the bottom of some big caverns and its full of yokai :x

What's the difficulty like compared to Souls/Bloodborne?

I'm finding the boss battles more difficult, however the rest of the game I feel is at around the same level as DS.

Just bought the digital version of this and the season pass. Got a shiny gold armour set with it. So far it's amazing. The setting is wonderful as it's bloodborne meets samurais.

Not used to the stances yet but the combat and dodging feels good and the loot, upgrades and style is ticking every box for me.

First boss took many attempts until I slowed down and played properly.

Just killed the spider boss. This game is amazing. I'm playing it much as I played bloodborne and still keep forgetting to use my pulse move to regain staminia.

The loot drops are just right and the guardian spirit adds another dimension to the gameplay. Everyone should play this.

Also everytime I get stuck I just sumon another player and devastate a boss.

Had to put it down after continuously dying at the third boss. Great game, but I needed a break otherwise I'll just get frustrated by it.

Im at the end of this and I dont think I can bothered to finish it. In the last level you fight 4 of the earlier bosses again. You then fight a new boss followed by 2 more bosses with no save between them the last 2. I just cant be arsed with the last 2.

You can save before the final boss. If you die you respawn before at the shire before the final boss.

Bosses in this are dicks. I love Bloodborne where the bosses were balanced and genuinely exciting. The bosses here look ok but are cheap and annoying. I'm just summoning in Co op people and rushing them. Apart from that..... Amazing game which looks ok and has ridiculous depth.

Currently stuck on the frog boss, hate it!

Finally got back into this and completed the main game and opened up new game plus. Now I can level up my guardian spirit.

It's so good. Like Bloodborne but with Diablo loot and Samurai mythology.

Very highly recommend to anyone who likes Souls games and wants a highly polished challenge.

Apologies for resurrecting a dead thread but I’ve just started playing this. I’m enjoying it thus far for the most part (granted I’ve barely left the starting area) but it reminds me of why I got frequently frustrated with Dark Souls 2 since it seems far too easy to get mobbed.

Back in DS1 (plus Demon’s and DS3 from what I remember) you could usually keep fights one on one but in DS2 you frequently got mobbed by enemies.

I’m getting a similar vibe here. Once you reach Japan not far from the start you approach a building where if you aren’t careful it’s easy to get 2 or even 3 enemies after you at the the same time.

It gets more amazing as it goes on. I played it more than Bloodborne. Also the community is amazing. When you summon in another player who is end game to help with a boss and they kill it in an explosion of colour and loot in second...bloody awesome. It's build on souls and actually betters it in most ways. Only negative is the world's are not like souls world's which are interlocking huge areas.
