I'm making slow but steady progress in this. Last night I killed some ogre looking dude in a small house which gave me the key to a large gate behind the house. I assume that's where I go next but I want to check out a small wooded area left of the house before moving on.
Just hit the first proper boss and I remember why the demo for this game pissed me off in the first place.
A small arena plus a boss a super aggressive boss with a huge range does not make for a fun battle. It's kinda like if Dark Souls opened with the Capra Demon.
I typically get wiped out before getting any decent hits in.
After about a dozen attempts I even tried summoning help but the guy was worse than me an proved no help at all.
EDIT: Killed the strawberry floater! It was pretty cool actually, I said to myself if I didn't off him this time I was calling it quits for the night then it all kinda fell into place and the battle went really well.
Alongside Ghost of Tsushima, Nioh 2 is up there with my most anticipated games right now. Adored the first game with how good it felt to play. Nioh 2 has the potential to be something crazy special.
Crikey this game is brutal at times. I thought I was getting it as I’d been making steady progress on Saturday then it throws me a side mission where it’s just a one on one fight with some samurai fella, “fine” I thought, “I can manage one samurai”... WRONG! Cue nearly 3 hours of me getting virtually one shotted before getting lucky and beating him.
Loving this game courtesy of psplus. Its like a mix between dark souls and sekiro. I love the atmosphere, level design and enemies. The combat is better than sekiro, that’s for sure, and although it is very tough at times, levelling up is not that difficult. I have just discovered the delight of ochoko cups, nioh’s very own summoning co-op mechanic, although it is limited to the number of cups you have in your possession, which aren’t easy to find. That was until i found a little exploit to farm them, so now can summon whenever i am in a spot of bother. Graphics on ps4 pro are decent, especially in movie mode. The 60fps mode is a jaggy mess with its lower resolution and i really cannot accept such graphics in this day and age, even with a better framerate. Movie mode is the way to go despite many people suggesting the performance mode. So far, so good and fills the gap from software left behind. I can’t say i overly loved nioh 2 beta, although i now get the mechanics are spending time on the original game, so it could be a nice playstation exclusive to play in 2020. Nice little surprise of a game, and is added to the bunch of games this generation that did not interest me initially.
