Yes. You are. And having heard your advice he has decided against taking it. So pick up your pride, accept that he doesn't want what you offered and help him with his question instead.

And to Falsey: If someone asks for advice, you generally stick to advising on that subject. Not one only tangentally related.

EDIT: You implied he didn't want advice. I'm simply saying he wanted advice on one subject, and was only offered it on another.
It's not complicated. Thank God you're pretty...

We're telling him truthfully that he will save money and be able to buy a superior product if he builds his own. We've answered his question.

If someone said to me "I have £200 for a pair of headphones and I only want to buy Beats headphones" I'd still point out that they are terrible and offer a pair of AKG 701s, a far better set of headphones.

I will not build one.

It was only two lines in! How could you miss it? Did your Ritalin wear off just as you clicked the thread? You've answered the question YOU wanted to answer, not the one asked. Congratulations, you can now take your seat in government.

Best advice in the thread:

If you want to talk about buying a new computer, post it in here.

Anyway, what did you go for in the end, OP?

By this point, suicide I imagine.

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

Yes. You are. And having heard your advice he has decided against taking it.

In that case he still has the spec list we supplied.

If he wants a one click solution from this thread, he's SOL because most of us built ours, and the few people who didn't largely have stories of which retailers to avoid.

I would recommend PC Specialist. I got a PC from them a couple of years back - I was able to specify exactly which parts I wanted (even down to which variant of a particular model graphics card and how I wanted my HDD partitioned) and it was delivered quickly. I've had no problems at all with the machine and I get annual emails from them to check that I am still happy with my purchase.

I could probably have built my own but I would never have had the time with an attention-seeking toddler around.

Protip: Yes you would have.
