XL supremacy - the screen is so big and bright, much more comfortable to view. It's easier to get immersed in something. Complaints about low res, stfu pixel art is great.

My hands do get tired holding it after a while, but mostly you just have to relax your hands or it's your fault cramping them up. I'll never know whether this is more or less of an issue with the standard size.. I think I had some problems with the original DS but can't remember.

Tried the Ever Oasis demo. I really liked it, and it looks really good for a 3DS game. Very close to a console experience and a "nice place to be in". Might pick it up.

I'm either going to get this or Picross 3D 2 soon. It looks really cool and I keep hearing positive things about it.

It felt like that right balance between different approaches, multiple characters (you can switch between them) with different abilities, in simple Zelda-esque dungeons that aren't boring to explore, with verticality. The small world is convincing. The combat is simple but fun.

Obviously can't vouch for 10-20hrs game in there but the production values were very good and it just felt nice to play. It is published by Nintendo too so I think a bit more effort has gone into it than its getting credit for, which is probably why the pushed the demo along with a 10% off offer.

Between that and Fantasy life for a Zelda-esque game with animal crossing/RPG elements, but without the game time investment of a Zelda title, I'm not sure what my next 3DS purchase will be, besides Metroid, and I'm very choosy. I have a gap at the moment for things to play that feel like you're inside a world that is worth crafting/saving etc. for small sessions before sleep etc. I miss diving in and out of animal crossing like that, but there's not really anything to do anymore except build my house. I should try to complete the minigame they added with the Welcome Amiibo update, though.

I might revisit Fire Emblem Awakening but with permadeath turned off. Its putting me off playing at the moment, just because I know I will rage quit every single time I lose a member of my current cohort, as I like them all. I can always play it again on the "hardcore" mode that is considered to be - it's not enabled by default anymore. I was enjoying the story.

Nothing wrong with playing Fire Emblem without perma death. I played Birthright and Conquest like that. Not worth the hassle.

Anyone else getting the New 2DS next week?

I have the black and blue one on pre-order, mainly so I can play SNES games on the go :-)

I can't wait - all the games on the SNES Mini and more, on the go! Plus NES games, and the amazing 3DS library.

All the SNES and NES games? How much are you planning on spending?

Does it come with a bag?

Except Final Fantasy III, Kirby Super Star, Secret of Mana, Star Fox 1/2, Super Mario RPG or Yoshi's Island.

Also would cost you over £100 for the 14 of the 21 games that are available.

Yeah the SNES vc on 3DS is a real bummer. I assumed FF 3/6 was on there and it ain't.

Did bit more Ever Oasis tonight, formed my first party and off questing we went, can't resist going everywhere and trying to collect everything. Been doing main and side quests to grow the oasis, so far it's been quite rewarding managing the oasis and levelling up, just hope the charm continues and nothing becomes a chore but been enjoyable so far.

Cubed3 gets it:
It may not be for everyone, but for the more creative of players, Miitopia is a dream. It's genuinely funny, utterly engrossing, and worth the asking price just to see yourself striding valiantly through a forest with Professor Layton, Judge Dredd, and Lady Gaga in tow.

My kinda game  . I've played the opening 45 minutes and it's great fun... although I think it would be very much an acquired taste.

I wasn't interested in this, but reading a few reviews now I kind of want it

I'm still deep in Ever Oasis though, I don't think I will find the time :(

Ever Oasis is wonderful though!
