I would say it definitely is at that price.

Has anyone replaced the shell of a 3DS? I'm not really used to taking tech apart, and thought I was the dogs bollocks when I opened my 360 and replaced a rubber band in the disc tray mechanism. I've watched some videos of shell replacements and it looks pretty complicated. My 2012 3DS XL has had a crack around the right hand hinge for a while now, and in the last week it's got a lot worse, and feels like it's going to snap a big chunk of plastic every time I close the hinge. I'm more concerned about it pulling some circuits/wires with it and killing the system.

I think I'm going to try and find a 2DS XL and do a transfer of everything because that option goes away (I assume it will go with the eShop closure), but I was just wondering if it would be worth trying to fix up the old one too.

Was just reading through the Ocarina of Time 3D thread, particularly the pages from launch day and how excited everyone was  makes me feel like replaying it as I never have played the Master Quest mode.

Anyone fired up their 3DS recently?

I've been using mine daily now for a month or so playing various pokemon titles and I have a bunch of Kirby to play after too.

Still a fantastic little system, even with the new age of HD portable consoles it’s still easy to go back to it I find

Great system, I always have mine to hand. Strangely I think I even got a streetpass on it the other day, someone must have walked past my house. Unless it was from ages ago and I never noticed.

I bought a load of stuff when Argos were dumping all their 3DS games, so I don't think I'll ever run out of games to play on it.

The 3DS and Wii U eshop close soon, don't they? Is anyone picking up some last minute "eshop exclusive" purchases before they're gone forever?

Yeah, March I think?

I have been thinking of picking up Nintendo Pocket Football Club, not sure if it’s any good or not tho

I'm playing OoT 3DS right now! It's great. I'm doing a more relaxed pace with it.

Especially love playing it with headphones. The soundtrack has a lot of stereo elements to it.

End of March. I've been picking up some 3DS games I wanted but never got. Ended up getting Triple Deluxe, Mario & Luigi Paper Jam, Pokemon Green/Crystal and before the end of March I might get more Pokemon titles if they're not announced at Pokemon day for switch. Other than that the one game I really want is Epic Yarn, it's so expensive even now (even in Japan where most preowned stuff is super cheap) so I think I might get it on 3DS eshop.

Once the eshop closes it’s time to hack your console and install ROMs off am the games you cannot buy anymore.

Just last week I was looking for somewhere reliable selling new New 3DS (regular or XL). No luck.

Yeah I was considering picking up another New 2DS just as a back up but I think stocks have dried up for the most part

I bought a 2DS as a treat for myself at Christmas last year, and it gets played daily. Mostly working through Picross 3D 2 at the moment

It’s great how much the 3/2DS still gets love

Again, combined with the DS library it really is a fantastic console

Playing fire emblem echoes tonight, it's just perfect on the 3ds, somebody in my friend list was playing birthright, I've still got this in my backlog, so many good games.

The 3d gimmick still wows me

I was playing Ocarina of time ( ) last night and the little rubber grip cover on my thumbstick has just split in half and come off.

I glued it on before as it came off, but it's completely strawberry floated now. Anyone know if they do replacements for this thing or is there any cheap hacks for getting more grip on the thumbstick? It's playable, just slightly slippy.

Something like this replacement should do the trick, Squinty!

Edit: I'm not sure how easy it is to fit; the casing may need to be opened.
Edit: If you do have to open up the 3DS, a screwdriver like this one is listed as good for the job.
