That's cool, lex-man. I guess there are lots of games that you wanted to play now, rather than waiting untl next year for the New 3DS? What model did you decide to go for?

I did not know this. That game was really good. I don't know where my cart is :(

I live in Japan, I'm getting the new one next month. It's a metallic blue LL one.

Want to play some pokemon, Monster Hunter, Smash Broth and Mario Kart 8.

Great stuff, lex! Us GRcadians who live in less lucky locations are now eagerly awaiting your news and views on New 3DS!

I'm hoping my one doesn't take too long to get here, should only be a few days judging from past experiences with consoles.

Just New 3DS. I'm getting the white New 3DS as I like the size more.

That white New 3DS (with FREE Super Nintendo buttons!) does look cool, Qikz. Personally, I'm also veering towards the New 3DS model and so I'd be keen to hear your thoughts on the revised approach and the screen size aspect.

Our updated launch review plan is now even better as we're covering a range of kit:

I like the smaller model better than the new XL. Sometimes I feel like my XL is a bit overkill.

That's what she said.

Sega is releasing this collection of their 3D re-makes:

...but only in Japan, with no current plans for a release in other territories. It is launching on 18 December.

I would *love* to see this launch in the UK / Europe but I can't imagine it happening; even the digital versions haven't all made it across yet.

lex-man and Qikz can enjoy the games at Christmas and tell us just what a cool collection it is :-(.

Pity about that bizarre region locking policy. Fingers crossed for a hacked firmware.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

The eShop should make this all so redundant, and yet it doesn't...

I'm starting to think the New 3DS will be good value for money if I sold my 3DS XL to put towards it. Might come to £50 or less.

Can you take off your software before selling or do you need a new console to do the transfer first?

Some stuff you can take off - not sure if that's games or saves.
Otherwise you need two systems

Has Nintendo officially commented on 2DS sales this year? Or is the lack of comment a sign that sales have been slow? Wikipedia has a shipment of 2.4m as of June 2014, which sounds more GameBoy Micro level than DSi.

Hmm the Mario character ones are a little bland, the Zelda one seems best for me but not sure about the Link Between World specific stuff, I would prefer something more traditionally Zelda... Yet that seems overcrowded. Yoshi one seems cool. Maybe minimal is better? Choices!

Plus I bet opening my 3DS from Standby to hear "Yoshi!" will always raise a smile!
