I had no idea about Yoshi or Pikmin!

I should probably give the 3DS a good send off before even thinking about Switch. Loads of games I still haven't got.

Woolly World and Fire Emblem Echoes are day 1 for me.

Still not played a Layton game so I should really fix that. :fp:

Those are some proper titles.

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

The third one is a personal favourite.

Mario Sports Superstars now has a release date of 10 March.

If the sports in this are as good as they are in their single title releases, this could be really good.

Each game also comes with an amiibo card.

What are people's thoughts on the 2ds, I used to have a 3ds xl but sold it (stupidly) anyway I was considering a 2ds because it smaller and seems more comfortable has anyone got one how does it stack up?

It's comfortable to hold but the lack of 3D and the extra power of the New series put me off making it my main machine. If you don't care about either of those, it's a great way to play 3DS and DS games :toot:

My younger nephew has a 2DS and it's a cool wee machine. Personally, if I had the choice, I'd prefer to play on a New 3DS because I like the form-factor and - as Dragon highlighted - the stronger technical oomph.

My preference also lies with the standard New 3DS over the XL models, but I know that most GRcadians wouldn't agree with that :) .

Still plugging away at Rhythm Paradise Megamix. Thought I'd got to the end of it but there's more levels to do.

Did anyone get the new Picross game? Is it any good?

Can someone tell me which essential AAA games I'm missing from my 3DS collection?

I want to finish off the essentials throughout this year, before even thinking about Switch.

Here's what I have:

Super Mario 3D Land
New Super Mario Bros 2
Mario Kart 8
Mario Golf World Tour
Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D
Pilot wings Resort
Zelda: Ocarina of Time
Zelda: Majora's Mask
Zelda: Link between Worlds
Kid Icarus
Super Street Fighter IV
Luigi's Mansion
Starfox 64 3D

I'm only really after the "absolutely cannot miss" AAA games :-)

Thanks. :toot:

Does the extra power really notice, like will the newset gamesill play ok ?

I think my major concern is the size, I worry I will findd the screens too small. I had a look at one in Tesco and annoying the backlight was bust on both screens so there was no way to see how it played and felt.

I've only compared Hyrule Warriors but that runs terribly on the normal 3DS or 2DS so I'd only recommend playing that on a New 3DS. That being said, I haven't heard of any other titles being as bad so you can easily get away with a 2DS. The screens aren't as small as I feared so you should be fine with them. I have a spare one of these kicking about that you can have if you like:

Bear in mind that it is from Amazon.de so you'll probably need to buy a UK charger or use a plug converter.

I see. I'll keep looking and thinking, dont really have the money for a new 3DS and really I would be playing Sun on a 2ds which is still sort of over kill :D

Might keep an eye on ebay and see if something comes up cheap.

Hyrule Warriors is only good on n3ds, Xenoblade is only playable on n3ds, pokemon sun/moon chugs less with the n3ds (especially in 2+ battles), MH4U/G are quicker to load and more stable on n3ds. If you're wanting to play pokemon then it'll work on the 2DS (and doesn't have 3D anyway), but you will hit some slow down.

I'm not sure the 3DS has AAA games

You can have that 2DS for free. I've never opened it and I only have it because I forgot to cancel a pre-order :P
