Most games I tried on the emulator when I had homebrew on my DS had noticeable slowdown and graphical glitches, some were borderline unplayable (Super Metroid and Mario Kart iirc) and others ran like absolute shite. I'd be shocked if there's any games running flawlessly on those DS emulators. I know people love to be cynical but I really do think in this case the the DS and 3DS weren't powerful enough to run them at an acceptable level for Nintendo, I can't even get SNES games working without problems on my Vita.

I suppose it's harder to swallow when we've had updated and graphically improved re-masters of N64 games on the 3DS.

I get that emulation is a totally different thing but you can see how it feels a bit off.

It's probably new-3DS envy in my case.

Speaking of SNES games on the VC, I didn't realise the 3DS version of Super Metroid was the NTSC version rather than the PAL one. That's getting bought.

I've played SNES games on my OG 3DSXL and they run fine.

Might keep an eye on ebay and see if something comes up cheap.

You can have that 2DS for free. I've never opened it and I only have it because I forgot to cancel a pre-order :P

Want to accidentally order 2 switches and give me one for free? I don't know when the strawberry float I'll be able to get one otherwise  ....

I do still have five pre-orders...

If you like classic sega games, might I suggest buying the triple pack of the archives for 3DS when it comes out.

There's so many great games on there.

I would hope so, the other 2 versions got released right?

I was just playing that last night, went back to it after not playing it in ages. The story gooseberry fool and characters they've added really kill the game for me. Haven't played the Wii version but in the GBA and DS games it was just mini game after mini game with no interruptions and it's really strawberry floating annoying having to just sit and hammer the button to get past the unstoppable dialogue, especially when you move onto the next section and a new character is introduced.

I can see why that would annoy some people. I didn't find that aspect too intrusive, but the gatekeeper challenges break the pacing quite a bit. Still can't actually beat the last one.

You can access the games and play them from the Museum once you've unlocked them in the story, which is what I do now so I don't have to cycle through the worlds. The game gets much better when you start getting Remixes. Those are all awesome.

Nope.

We got Sega 3D Classics Collection which was Archives 2 in Japan, we never got the original release.

I really want Power Drift, but its the only game on the collection I don't have already that I want. They need to just release all of them separately on the eShop

So I got this!

Image

Physical version of the trilogy of box boy games and an Amiibo.

I'm playing through the second one and it's cool, especially as it allowed me to import my save data (which I did 100% before) and is allowing me to play through the game with my sick King cape and crown! Kyubi <3

This is quite possibly one of my favourite new IPs of the past 10 years or so. It's so adorable.

That looks great, Qikz! Is the third game "Goodbye, Boxboy!"?

What does the Boxboy amiibo do in the game(s)?

Third one is indeed "Goodbye, Boxboy!". Not sure about the Amiibo, it's still in the packaging at the minute.

I always thought that you literally can't play them, not that that they just run poorly?

Snap! I thought you could only download them from the eShop to a New 3DS?
