They are definitely on sale, they are half price so £3.59 (except Earthbound which is £4.49), it is limited (Super Mario World, Super Mario Kart, A Link to the Past, F-Zero and Earthbound) but they are all on sale now.

Andy, you need to have a Nintendo Account (My Nintendo) setup and linked to your NNID in order to get the discounted prices on the eShop.

I do, and they're still all appearing full price - and I have already bought 2 at full price :x

My Nintendo Network ID is definitely linked, as every time I hook up to the e-shop, those details briefly pop up on the screen first...

Edit - ok, I think I can buy the games on my computer via the My Nintendo website - the discounts are showing then, but not on my 3DS...

Edit 2 - that doesn't work...and it's telling me I need to buy the games via my 3DS, but when I try that, and it's definitely linked to my Nintendo Network ID, the games which are meant to be on sale show up full price!

Can anyone help? My New 2DS is definitely linked to the "Nintendo Network" but there seems to be a problem with the "My Nintendo" side of things...

Can you logon to the My Nintendo site, Andy? Link: https://my.nintendo.com

I think the problem relates to the fact that it looks like I have 2 Nintendo Network IDs for some reason...and I linked the wrong one to the My Nintendo Account...

But now I have switched them around, and computer version of the My Nintendo Account shops isn't even showing the discounts any more...and it was when I was signed in with the ID which wasn't linked to my Nintendo Network.

I now can't switch the Nintendo Network ID back to the old one, as my computer has saved the new one, so I'm back to square one.

Totally confused...

I give up. I can't do it. I have about 3 Nintendo Network IDS, different ones are linked to different devices, and I'm resigned to the fact it's never going to work.

I've spent over an hour faffing around now, and it's not getting me anywhere.

Yes, you can create your NNID through your 3DS, Ste. Personally I'd do that and then access the Nintendo Account / My Nintendo setup process via your PC.

Andy, you seem to be in a bit of a pickle! Maybe take a break and then investigate further? It is a bit messy but you can work through it.

There are three aspects; your NNID (which can be created on your game system) and then Nintendo Account / My Nintendo (which can be setup on your PC and linked in to your NNID). A NNID can only be used on one type of system (i.e. one 3DS) although it can also be used on one Wii U and one Switch, too. A Nintendo Account and My Nintendo can only be linked to one NNID.

As a first step, you probably need to logon to your Nintendo Account (or each one, if you have setup more) and check the settings to see what NNID it is linked up with.

Thank you :)

Yes, I will take some time later to try to properly work through it.

People who complain about the 3DS/2DS screen I swear don't have the brightness jacked up which is plenty and the 1:1 pixel graphics in loads of titles are in my opinion so much better than the blurry mess this style results in on pretty much every other system. There is nowhere games like Shantae and gb and snes games (with the "secret" 1:1 display options) are more at home.

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."

I'm in a similar pickle.

My son has a Nintendo ID (linked to my email) on the 3DS and Wii u. Neither are linked to a Nintendo account. I set up the switch last night and created myself a Nintendo account with my son linked to it as a child's account, he's about to turn 8. What I wanted to do was link his Nintendo ID to my Nintendo account. However I got an error that the date of births don't match.

I believe the options are going to be change his date of birth to match mine and assume that it will then link. Or reset up the switch and create him his own Nintendo account linked to his Nintendo ID.

Short term wise I think it would be better if he has a child's account on the switch that is linked to my account rather than giving him his own account.

STAR, you may have already done this, but have you checked the Nintendo help pages for setting up a child's account and linking a Nintendo Account to a NNID?

Yeah I did thanks. It didn't seem to answer my question though. I've managed to set up the switch side of things I think correctly.

I am now 100% certain that I have the same Nintendo Network ID set up on both my Wii U and New 2DS.

I have linked that Nintendo Network ID to the My Nintendo Account.

And I still don't get the sale items...They just don't show up on either the 2DS or the My Nintendo shop (and bizarrely, they did when I had the wrong Nintendo Network ID synched, but then it wouldn't let me buy the games via my PC - but the discounts don't show up on the 2DS.

I really don't see what else I can do:

1. Nintendo Network ID - set up!
2. My Nintendo Account - set up!
3. NNID linked to My Nintendo Account - check!

What is missing?

I've just discovered the 2DSXL exists, and is just a shade over £100.

Aside from wondering why it's taken so long to get to a more affordable edition of the latest DS without the 3D shite, I'm now pretty tempted to pick one up, mainly to scratch that Pokémon itch I've had ever since the disappointing non game of Pokémon Go came out.

What other DS essentials are there out at the moment? It's been years, so there must be plenty of good games to try alongside it by now?

3DS you mean?

Super Mario 3D Land
Super Mario Maker
New Super Mario Bros 2
Paper Mario Sticker Star
Fire Emblem Awakening
Fire Emblem Fates
Luigi's Mansion 2
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds
Rhythm Paradise Megamix
Kid Icarus: Uprising
Pilotwings Resort
Codename STEAM
Ghost Recon Shadow Wars
Bravely Default
Resident Evil: Revelations
Dead or Alive: Dimensions

A bunch of others too, a few remakes and a load of downloadable titles (especially Sega's 3D Classics range)

Does that matter as it's a 2DS and doesn't have 3D?

Cheers for the recommendations. A few I was aware of already, but I'll be sure to check out the rest. Except for Dead or Alive

Is it just old virtual console stuff on the download store, or does it have more recent download only titles?

No, 2ds plays pretty much every 3ds game (maybe not Xenoblade??). I'd recommend Fantasy Life, Picross 3d and Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate in addition to those above.

Well the DS was a completely different system and the 3DS (and 2DS) plays those games too, so yeah.

EDIT - The 2DS plays all 3DS games as far as I'm aware.

There's both more recent download only titles that are only on 3DS, there are the games that got released for the DSi as DSiware which you may or may not be aware of. Then there are games from old systems and arcade that only ever got released on 3DS.

The list I posted for 3DS games is by no means exhaustive either, there are quite a few RPGs I didn't mention, stuff like Mario Kart 7, Smash Bros for 3DS. Then multiple versions of Monster Hunter and Pokémon.
