Awesome OP :D

Looking throught that OP has got me rather excited for the launch now. Really want MGS 3DS and RE: Revelations though I'll not be picking a 3DS up till a while after the launch.

How do you determine if software is overpriced? (What would you consider overpriced in this situation?)

PlayStation 3 didn't have a thread this good.

Typical GRcade pro Nintendo bias.

I would consider DS software massively overpriced at £29.99. I will also consider 3DS software massively overpriced at £29.99.

I think you'll only be outraged if you have unrealistic expectations of it.

For some reason people seem to be under the impression that because the machine is a 'handheld' device, it shouldn't follow the same pricing structure that you'll accept from any other device. Especially strange seeing as the same people will accept a similar price point for a less powerful device from Apple.

I also fail to see why the games should be any less expensive than a home console game. They are offering similar (or depending on your point of view even better) quality and size, why shouldn't they be a similar price.

I didn't realise Apple made a handheld gaming console.

Why? They're no less games than on any other console.

Interesting about the DS prices too. Why is that? Surely budget should decide pricing, not something as meaningless as it being on a handheld. 3DS games have budgets comparable to, if not higher, than last generation home consoles (£40) and that's only the early stuff, so it'll probably get even higher if devs "get serious". Deciding the price, already cheaper than home consoles, is an outrage just seems like it relegates handhelds to low budget throwaway games, which would make them rather pointless.

There is certainly a stigma (among gamers anyway, I'm not sure if casuals even make a distinction) of handheld prices having to be lower than console prices, but surely a good game is a good game, regardless of format, and should be able to justify its price just like on home consoles?

Excellent OP, Tiarny.

Like I said in the other thread, already have my pre order in with GAME. I've never been this excited about a launch of a console.

I think the content you get from a DS game is well worth £30.

I've gotten just as much, if not more, out of some DS games as I have from 360 games.
