You're right, they're 10/10 and 9/10 games respectively.

That is a very correct score.

So, that list then, with a little review and a rating out of 5.

Perfect Dark - I spent far too long playing this game. Absolutely adored it. 5/5
GoldenEye 007 - A little late to the party with this one, but it blew me away. The music on Facility is one of my favourite pieces of in-game music. 5/5
Diddy Kong Racing - Really fun but incredibly frustrating at times, particularly the boss battles and the silver coin hunts. I still played it enough to get to the space levels though. 4/5
Banjo-Kazooie - Awesome. Not as good as SM64, natch, but a damn good take on the genre. 5/5
Donkey Kong 64 - I loved this when I played it, although I can appreciate the collect-a-thon criticism of it. Personally, I enjoyed the fact that there was always something else to do. 4/5
Banjo-Tooie - Not as good as BK but pretty good all the same. 4/5
Killer Instinct Gold - NEVER PLAYED ?/5
Jet Force Gemini - I had no problems with this game whatsoever - absolutely adored it. Even the Tribal hunt (although I did resort to using a guide). 5/5
Mickey's Speedway USA - Pretty fun racer - the weapons were gooseberry fool and it was pretty hard near the end but a decent enough time-sink for a 13 year old JK. 3/5
Conker's Bad Fur Day - Hilarious. The Great Mighty Poo song amused me no end. 4/5
Blast Corps - Such a good game if a little frustrating when it came to getting all the gold and platinum medals. 5/5

I  Rare. I was genuiniely upset when I heard of their buyout by Microsoft.

I remember the day I got this for the N64. Had a friend over and we played through the opening segments into the wee hours of the morning. Brilliant times.

I love the episodic feel of the Paper Mario games; it's something that I kind of miss in the other Mario RPGs. Paper Mario was my favourite for having the desert and snowy mountains; excellent memories attached to those.

There are some amazing games on the N64 that never got any coverage in the UK, which is a shame.

Games like Glover are brilliant, but I hardly knew anyone or anywhere that sold it.

I was looking through my Wii stats earlier and noticed that I had spent 14 hours with the VC version of Lylat Wars.

Such a great game.

Had a major hankering to play through it again recently; must act upon it!

There's no need to be here any longer than necessary. Let's split up, look for survivors, and get out of here.

I have a gaming blog too. Read it if you wish; if you don't I won't take it too personally. Metro 2033 is shite!

Starfox is going to be EPIC when they give it a next-gen, orchestral makeover,

Actually, I listened to that first, but since it's an N64 topic, I went with the 64 version.

Assault didn't inspire much joy as a game...but its orchestral arrangements of N64 anthems were fairly nice, though a bit lacking oopmh, sometimes.

I actually loved Assault minus the ground bits.

I actually have a friend whose second-favourite Gamecube game is Starfox: Assault, and I have to admit...I liked the game for the time that I played it. Sadly, I never had any desire to go back, but I thought it was agreeable while it lasted. I selfishly wish the Wii would get two massive Starfox games: one being more or less a gargantuan upgrade of Lylat Wars, and the other being along the same lines but instead allowing you to freely explore the whole Lylat System and be interrupted en route to new planets, and such--kind of like what Starfox 2 had in mind.

Concerning the N64, I played some Snowboard Kids 2 today. I love the music for Jingle Town--the Silver Mt. remix from the original game. It's so brilliantly colourful, too, and the myriad stages are genuinely imaginative. It's captivating. Anyone else given it a go?
