If you dedicated years of your life to covering a company you love the output of, only for them to come out with what they have for the past year or so, you'd be a rambling maniac too. ;)

Funny think is that it probably has the best bunch of journalists at IGN, compared to the PS3 and 360 sections. The Nintendo Voice Chat podcast is pretty good too.

I reckon we'll be lucky to see one out of Zelda, Mario, and Pikmin.

Nintendo aren't likely to show something that isn't going to be out until 2010. I think Wii Sports Resort was only shown last year because they felt they had to show Motion+ in response to a rumoured motion controller from Microsoft.

Then again, they can't have liked the backlash they got from showing strawberry float all aimed at the fans last year.

They were comforted though by tonnes of cold hard cash.

Still, this year's E3 is not the non-gamery E3 of the year gone by, the backlash will be far worse for them if they repeat last year's mistakes.

I'm sure Nintendo America were embarrassed by last year's show (Here's the hardcore game you have been waiting for...Animal Crossing!), but Nintendo Japan call the shots and we all know that they know no embarrassment.

We just have to hope that Nintendo's sub-standard performance in Japan will irk Iwata and co. enough to reveal a few things. I'm sure they look at the numbers and believe everything is rosy in the western hemisphere.

We definitley wont see Mario (a proper Mario at least) and I'm very doubtful they'll show Zelda for the Wii, I reckon that's still a couple of years off. Pikmin has got to be the safe bet because lots of people expected it last year and Miyamoto made that comment after the conference.

I think you're outlook is a bit pessimistic though Oxx (not that I blame you) they're going to show they're 'core' game for 2009 no matter what, they would literally have to be insane not to do so. It could be Pikmin it could be Starfox, F-Zero, Pilotwings or something new.

That is the VERY least I'm expecting, I wouldn't be surprised to see two core titles though after last years fiasco. Two newly shown core games, Zelda for the DS a few new interesting bits and pieces and Sports Resort of course, and I'd call that a fairly decent conference.

I just want to see what Retro have been up to.

It isn't too hard to put together a line-up of games that will almost fill the run-time as it is. I can't imagine there will be more than one or two surprises.

- Graphs...lots of graphs
- Big focus on Wii Sports Resort
- Medley of third-party Motion+ games (EA stuff, Red Steel)
- More graphs
- Pikmin Pimp Party
- Big Japanese exclusives - Monster Hunter 3, Dragon Quest IX, Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers
- More graphs
- Zelda: Spirit Tracks
- Medley of b-tier games - Sin and Punishment, more NPC releases, New Fire Emblem
- Pokemon Gold and Silver + Wii Pokemon game
- Surprise 1 - Retro game?
- Surprise 2 - Kid Icarus? Pilotwings? Mario? Zelda? Kirby? Starfox?

Even that seems fairly core-focussed for Nintendo...maybe they'll throw in another Mario Party or Wii Zap.

For myself, a decent Nintendo conference would, realistically speaking, consist of...

No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle
Pikmin 3
Pokémon Heart Gold / Soul Silver
Red Steel 2
Retro Studios' Project
Sin & Punishment 2
The Conduit
The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
Wii Fit Plus
Wii Sports Resort

And any of the following: Pilotwings (formerly Wii Sports Airplane), Dead Space, Resident Evil.

The ultimate coup for myself would be a representative of Sega being invited on-stage to unveil an all-new 16-bit Sonic game heading to Wii Ware (+ XBLA/PSN).

I'd buy it. Hell, I would've bought Airplane in the state it was in when it was first shown off.

I think that if Nintendo Japan is going to persist in being so secretive regarding what they've got in development over there, they're going to be very hard pressed to please the 'serious gamer' audience with what they already have that has been announced. That is, erm, Zelda DS 2. I can see them relying very heavily on third parties to try to comfortably dust themselves off from last year's debacle.

I'd go along with either of those lineups, they seem most sensible while leaving room to be surprised/disappointed.

What are the odds The Behemoth will look kindly upon Wii owners and bless us with Castle Crashers?

To be honest I would be delighted if Nintendo even came close to providing what I listed above.

After the last couple of years I'm not taking anything for granted.

I'm not expecting to announce anything "hardcore" other than Pikmin 3.

This E3 for Nintendo is all about Wii Sports Resort, Motion+ and how DSi is kicking ass around the globe.

Satoru Iwata wrote:The reason why I said today that April, May and June sales of Wii will not reach last year’s results but that the situation will change from the summer of this year was because the company has been preparing for several titles to be launched toward the end of this year that can drive the market.

Wii Sports Resort, Wii Fit Plus and what else?
