I am missing Miiverse, too. I had a few pals on there that, even though they now have Switches, I can’t communicate with because Switch doesn’t even have a messaging system, let alone any form of community. I have grown to really like the Switch but the lack of Miiverse-type comms functionality is feeling like a step backwards.

It's an .html file that opens up in your browser and just looks like the website did. You can look at what you posted each year.

We should do a subdomain or something and host them under peoples names so people can view each others histories and things here, assuming it wont eat all the server storage and that.

I have no idea how that could be done... but it sounds amazing :o .

If it is just HTML files it would be a matter of plonking them on the server and having a sort of index page with each persons name that links to their set of HTML files.

I've got my file and it's not huge; around 4Mb. It has a file called "index.html" that points to the stuff in a folder called "assets". There is some great stuff in there, including icons for the games and graphics of your Mii's reactions....

 . Quite cleverly, it only contains the images that you actually used on your own posts in Miiverse; hence my face images don't include, say, the "unhappy.png" version  .

The individual graphics are in separate file "png" files, too - even though they're presented in "Miiverse post" format by the main file:

Ahh cool yeah in that case it should be easy enough to host them all and then make a page with each persons name on that links to their index.html file from within their folder letting you see a list of peeps in the archive and then click into their archive.

Of course this is all theory and up to GG / Karl to be cool with an do something with it :D

The unofficial Miiverse archive, Archiverse, is up-and-running!

It doesn't have all of the data from Miiverse but quite a lot of it. I've searched for my username and most of my stuff is there, snap-shotted as at 4 October 2017. Why not click on the Users tab, then Show Advance Search Options, and search for your own username?

What a tremendous project!

Edit: Err... hang on... I think a ton of my posts are missing. Checking now.
Edit: Yeah, although it lists me as having 165 posts, I can only view about eight or so of them :( . Will take another look later.

Is there anything sadder than the WiiU plaza now that Miiverse is gone?

God bless dolphin & CEMU, but they're for ~10 years in the future when all my hardware is dead and dusty in the attic and I get an attack of nostalgia.

Three years today since the passing of Miiverse. It still stands as being *by far* the best community system on console; there has been nothing else like it.

Just shouted "Miiverse" really quite loudly! :toot: .

This was supposed to be a thing on Wii/post GC, but Nintendo obviously spent a long time developing it. It is a shame it's gone for the Switch but that doesn't mean the people have disappeared. Maybe Nintendo try again at some point in the future, as it was easily the least toxic of all the 1st party community features. Just a shame the underlying platform for it was so poor and the integration incredibly slow. It is weird seeing all the community integrations in the games just error or disappear completely, though. Especially since most of those games are still online on Wii U.

"It should be common sense to just accept the message Nintendo are sending out through their actions."
