I get the impression that the download link you'll get will only download your own posts. My favourite posts were responses to my Mario Maker levels - they make me happy :) . That's why I've taken screenshots of them.

What will be left of Mario Kart 8 online? Is it just the Tournament part that's going? I presume some kind of online is still available?

I think you can still arrange them at the time and have people join you just setup a tournament like we have.

I *think* you will still be able to join Nintendo tournies and play with random folk, Lime - we just won't be able to set up our own tournaments.

This is a good example of how you should try to own your media in case things get shut down and you no longer have access to your content. I hope the download thing works for especially those with art, which remains to be seen...

Man I really suck at embedding things.

Miiverse, I'm sad to see it go.

Jawa, are these drawings that you have done? They're really brilliant! No wonder you're going to miss the Miiverse!

I still don’t understand why Nintendo think that facebook and twitter are a valid replacement for this :(

Goodnight, sweet prince. Smash Bros sessions will be a lot less fun without you.

Because the userbase on Twitter and Facebook is absolutely massive compared to Miiverse.

It's clear Nintendo have been building up their social media across territories and for different games/franchises for many years now, they do that extremely well from what I've seen.

People complain about their TV presence sure but their agency/internal is pretty on top of that, and the direct presentations pretty such changed the marketing direction of the company. It makes sense for them to be less isolationist and more adoptive now, although they could sort their online gaming gooseberry fool out (having said that, hardly ever had problems with their servers, eShop or downloads that download and install themselves flawlessly with no forced updates and slow-to-start times).

Wanted to compare Facebook pages to MiiVerse groups e.g. Zelda series but there's no stats on the miiverse pages..

There are people posting every couple of minutes just in that community, it is sort of sad.

Thanks, man. Miiverse reignited my desire to pick up a pencil (stylus)... there were some incredible artists on there and some of their drawings looked like photographs :o .

Goodbye, Miiverse  .
