Not PAL code.

You assume the Euro will still be a viable currency by the time the 3DS XL is released :slol:

I probably will end up getting the XL, but I'll be waiting for,
1) More colours to be released, wouldn't mind a red one this time around
2) The price to be under £140.
I'm sure there'll be plenty of trade-in offers when you purchase the console, but I want to transfer over all my Streetpass hits since I've got some from France and Japan that I doubt would be easy to replace, and for that I'll need both consoles at the same time. (Why the hell you can't do a system backup to SD card I don't know. Or can you and I just don't know about it?)

Even if we were back to punts by the time of release, we'll still get screwed over :x

I'd probably just trade in my 3DS for an XL if Nintendo were competent and had an account system where I could just log in on my new device and redownload all my games.

Releasing 2 and 3 year old games that never sold in the first place on a dead console isn't the kind of thing that would make money, I'd imagine.

Is it just me or does the blue version look terrible? The white version looks great though but isn't out here :fp: .

Didn't stop Nintendo of America releasing New Play Control Pikmin 2 in the last month or so.

Quite possibly becoming my favourite console ever.

While I am not quite in the same ball park, it is fast replacing the GBA SP as my favourite handheld console ever. Whereas the GBA was pretty much a portable SNES, the 3DS is - to paraphrase Suzz - a GC in the palm of your hand.

I would love a new Wave Race to be announced though. Blue Storm is still one of my favourite racing games ever, and even without analogue shoulder buttons, I think a 3DS version would work. It would look amazing in 3D as well.

If they keep adding to the eShop as well, then the 3DS will just take up even more of my time. Odd, really, as I never felt I gave the DS the attention it deserved, and I missed up on so many great games and, to be honest, my 3DS was very much an impulse purchase and I felt very guilty afterwards. Now I am hoovering up titles for it...

I would kill for a 1080 Avalanche follow up on 3DS. As long as Cauterize and Seether are on the soundtrack :shifty:

Just mod your console and import/pirate them.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Cauterize  I imported their album after hearing their songs on 1080 Avalanche.

Heres hoping for another random webcast featuring a complete rebranding of the Wii U,rejuvenating the platform with future proof specs and first party games. :slol: The latter wish would suffice

Oh I knew it. A larger 3ds!

I don't need it, it's not as portable, doesn't have a second circle pad, doesn't offer anything else other than a big screen.

So I'm definitely going to pass on this, it's completely unnecessary for me to have one.

Plus better battery life (which is sorely needed) and better start/select/home buttons.

Ironically, they gave the better battery life to a device which is less likely to be taken out of the house.

While it obviously isn't as easy to take with you as the 3DS, I'm not sure thats actually true. All the people I know who have a DSi XL play it away from their home just as regularly as they did the standard DS.

Plus the size is a factor in it being easier and cheaper to fit a bigger battery i would have thought.

Pricing chart nicked from a NeoGAF post:

USA - $199.00 | ¥16,005 | €158.24 | £127.68 (Includes AC Adapter)
JPN - $235.00 | ¥18,900 | €186.87 | £150.77 (No AC Adapter)
EUR - $251.50 | ¥20,227 | €199.99 | £161.36 (No AC Adapter)
UK - $280.54 | ¥22,563 | €223.09 | £179.99 (No AC Adapter)

I realise the US price is pre-tax and everyone else includes sales tax (I assume, not sure about Japan's practices with VAT) but still: the UK price is flat out bonkers.

Oh I missed that bit. I play mine hooked up to the mains anyway.

The point is that I will most likely buy one anyway, I will just fall for the hype..

Have you seen the advert, available on your current, outdated 3DS? The new one basically appears next to the old one and takes a big dump on it.

In its face.

That means the XL is $30.00 more in the US but £55.00 more in the UK. It'll be interesting to see the Irish 3DS XL price as they normally convert the Sterling price back into Euro and then blame the extra price on the cost of changing the plug. :slol:

Considering that the 3DS XL doesn't come with a plug in Europe, they can't use that excuse.
