CRASH BANDICOOT ON SWITCH! Ahem. I'd so getting it. The Octoling expansion might get me playing Splatoon 2 again, and I might also dig in and get Mario Tennis Aces. The 3DS might also be brought out again for Detective Pikachu.
And of course, Smash Bros. I have a feeling that if it was Smash 4, they'd have outright said so. As it is, and I get the feeling I'm right, the series is going to platform mode in the fact that this is giving us new content and bringing old stuff in, and will get even more new content added over time. Just don't go the ridiculous paid-DLC route as with Smash 4.

Travis Strikes Again looks alright, but I won't buy a Switch just to own it. The original (which I'm surprised hasn't been ported yet - E3 Direct fodder?) was strangely addictive and fun as hell, a two-pack release would be cool to see.

Other than that, meh. I don't know what it'd take for Nintendo to excite me anymore tbh, probably combination of announcements all at once, like Metroid, F-Zero & Excite Truck, etc.

Why can't they make Retro (or some other dev) into an equivalent to Guerrilla, Bioware, Naughty Dog etc? I'd strawberry floating love it if Nintendo could make games that compete effectively with those guys.

I'm legit about to buy a 3DS again just for Wario Ware. I'm not joking. It just feels too nostalgic. I still remember the day I brought my GBA SP with the original Wario Ware. Good times.

I'd guess Retro are still working on that mystery game that's been in development from circa 2013 that no one has a clue about. I get games take a lot of time to make but nearing 5 years and still nothing to show? It's just bizarre. The only thing I can think of is they're working on Metroid again but even then, 5 years and all we get is a logo saying Metroid Prime 4 is coming? Doesn't seem right.

Bandai-Namco Singapore are working on MP4, so the only things I can come up with is that Retro is developing an all new IP, or it's helping out on other Nintendo projects behind the scenes and its days of developing titles of its own are over.

I was disappointed. It looks like they showed maybe 1 brand new unannounced game and that is maybe Smash Bros, if that is just Smash 4 with some extra content then this direct was even more shite.

I'd forgotten Bandai Namco were working on MP4, it best be a hell of a new IP from Retro then considering the time they've had working on it. Just put them into Google now and one of the first news articles says how they're working on something huge for the Switch (no idea what the websites source is but it mentioned someone's profile on LinkedIn relating to single player storytelling and world building) but I'm sure we've been hearing headlines like that for a while now and still nothing to see. Who knows we may finally see it come E3 2018.

There's always the possibility they started a project that later got cancelled

A whole new Smash is a massive surprise to me, thought we'd be getting an enhanced port! Wowsers. Very, very exciting, and this year?

Considering we assume we still have Pokemon to come and E3, seems like it might be a pretty full year after all, which again - pleasant surprise.

The fact that TWEWY is getting remastered for Switch this year means I can finally hype up Neku Sakuraba for Smash and actually have that hype somewhat grounded in reality.

I'll take a Shibuya UG stage with this as potential BGM, please.

Seems from a translation of a tweet by Sakurai he’s back on it.

Another sign this is more than just a port.

yeah I was pretty relieved to read that. Thought for sure he'd be out, or at least be more on the side lines after Smash Wii U. That game almost drained him.

If they’re reusing assets and the game engine (and why wouldn’t they), development should be abit smoother this time in theory.

Things I’d like to see:

Springman
Ribbon Girl
Rex and Pyra as one character
Pauline
Ice climbers back
BOTW Champions
More DK characters

BOTW Hyrule Field with guardians kicking off in the background
Mario x Rabbids stage
New Donk City stage
Arms stage

Online mode as fleshed out as possible
Return of a story mode. Bin that crap single player board game thing from the Wii U

No delays

I honestly wouldn't mind an updated port. The engine is fine, it just needs a few tweaks like getting rid of rage which was just stupid to deal with after a while.
