I swear if this is another 2D platformer...

Would it make more sense to be the long rumored DKR game? Mind you it seems odd that Nintendo would need to trademark a long standing name.....

During E3 2017 is has been announced "The Search for Donkey Kong" will be Retro Studios follow up to 2016's critically acclaimed "Diddy Kong: The Search for Donkey Kong." Players might remember the shocking conclusion in which intrepid hero, Diddy Kong, discovered the sequel after defeating Donkey Pong, the Donkey Kong imposter. It will launch in 2018 alongside Nintendo's new home console, the "Nintendo: Hello hello, whats going on? Whats all this shouting? We'll have no Metroid and F-Zero here."

It would seem that this is the case, interested to see what they can do to separate it from Mario Kart. I don't think an SP mode will be enough. A DKR/Banjo Nuts & Bolts mix? Could be something there. Still, very hopeful.

I'll tell you another rumour I would like to see from DKR, bringing in lesser Nintendo characters like Mallo (Pushmo) to be the supporting cast. They can't be bringing back the other shite from the N64 game....

The Diddy Kong trademark alone is causing a meltdown on Gaf.

If Nintendo reveal a Retro DK game next week, the internet will break.

They're working with Rockstar to make a new Warriors game.

I personally want them to make another DK game. I mean, come on, I love Prime, but there's been 3 games in that series.

Animal buddies, Dave Wise soundtrack, Kremlings back. I want that game.

Think I'll be happy whatever they do. DK, Metroid (just please ditch the fetch quest at the end), another old series or something new. The pull of more David Wise means I do want DK more.

I'd go mental for a new metroid prime, with a new DK platformer being meh as I think two of those is enough for now.

Diddy Kong Racing was terrible so I hope that gooseberry fool stays in the past.

Now a diddy Kong 3D platformer on the other hand

Retro :datass:

My preference for them would be....

Something New > Donkey Kong > Metroid > A Karting Game

Assuming the something new was action/adventure along the lines of Tomb Raider/Uncharted.

Couldn't give two gooseberry fools about 2D platformers this E3, unless it's a new DK by Retro.

Time for adventure

I'd be heartbroken if Retro really were working on a Diddy Kong game. I just want Metroid V to be from them. A gloriously beautiful 2D Metroid adventure, with U and 3DS crossplay.

But then again, they don't exactly mention me and my wants in their ideas meetings, do they? So, probably a Retro Diddy Kong extravaganza.

Hmmm when you read the full trademark the follow is mentioned

25 Clothing; garters; sock suspenders; suspenders [braces]; waistbands; belts for clothing; footwear; masquerade costumes; clothes for sports; special footwear for sports; headgear.

Garters? Suspenders?? What if its an adult Diddy Kong game!!!

Retro working on a 3D Diddy Kong adventure game aimed towards adults.....think Conkers bad fur day with added bananas
