Gamepad screen used to "cut out" secrets, too - I like that idea.

Just tuned in to this actually.

Looks really nice. Almost looks like a robot chicken animation, but less shoddy.

Morton

Hope this refines on Sticker Star. As it was a damn fine game with a few big issues.

Really enjoyed that preview; I'd forgotten about this game and it looks great. I'm out now, guys - too knackered. Laters!

Boss specific cards. Because that worked so well in Sticker Star. I expected nothing based on the original reveal and I'm still pissed off at how mediocre and Sticker Star-ey this is.

Why is it so difficult for Nintendo to make a proper sequel to TTYD?

Have they dumped Rhythm Heaven? That was meant to be on now.

At least Audrey is back.

It was ok. Completely forgettable like the most recent game. It had no RPG systems. No reason to enter into a battle since you didn't level up. Just collecting stickers then using them if you wanted to. It had no interesting characters, just identikit toads over and over. This looks to be the same shite to me.

I don't really understand the 'its not an RPG' argument, surely the stickers you get and have access to ARE you levelling up in a different way?

Not to say I was massive fan of the game, but I'd still call it an RPG. I don't know what else you'd call it.

That guy has a Samus/Metroid T-Shirt. Don't tease me like that!

Unless it's Audrey. She can tease me all she wants.

Leveling up what? You just collect stickers & then use them on an enemy. You don't advance, you don't grow and become stronger. That is the most basic aspect of an RPG. You're essentially picking up an item, then using it. It's a horrible system.

Again, I agree the system sucks, but by progressing through the game, you are getting access to better and better stickers. I argue thats kind of levelling up, and you can always 'grind' by hunting for more stickers.

It's a horrible strawberry floating system, DML!

This guy summarizes my problem with everything Paper Mario post TTYD better than I ever could.

I have said I think it sucks, what more do you want?

It goes without saying Sticker Star is one of my most dissappointing games ever, I don;t want Colour Splash, and TTYD is a definite contender for my top ten of all time. I'm just not sure Sticker Star is not an RPG. If it isn't...we need a new term.
