I continually add to the idea of an expanded Wuhu island. I've talked in the past elsewhere about giving the hotels on the island something to do - a mystery game or something similar. Giving the island itself a true overhaul and adding a few new islands that add to the archipelago. After all, if we bring all the sports from the original Wii Sports into this hub-type game, there's currently a complete lack of a baseball field on the islands. Rock climbing could also be a new event.
Everyone is literally losing their minds on Era. I convinced myself Nintendo would show something big in a Direct around about the time of the Switch's anniversary, but now it's here, I'm not entirely convinced. I hope so, they can't save everything for E3, right? Too much would get lost in the shuffle. Surely we'll finally get a reveal on the new Fire Emblem Switch game, and honestly, I'd be hugely satisfied with that. I'm still hoping for a port of Tokayo Mirage Sessions #FE too. But rumours of a confirmed date for Project Octopath Travellers hopefully means we get a date, a new trailer, or footage, and perhaps a lovely LE (I just hope it doesn't sell out instantly).
The cherry, which seems to be depressingly unattainable at the moment, is VC. I need some retro goodness on my Switch.
I keep meaning to claim the Gold coins from my games, but keep forgetting. It's going to be so annoying putting each cart in to claim them. Must get around to it, I'm sure some of them will expire eventually (is it two years for registration?).
Funnily enough, I'd already talked about amiibo support when I covered this idea on my blog. Though I probably went overboard on the idea, stuffing it full of stuff that the amiibo would be used for - including franchise theming based on amiibo useage for the entirety of the island.

They had a 15 minute "mini" Direct in January which had a few reveals (I know a lot were ports but Mario Tennis is a fairly big announcement) so I wouldn't be surprised for them to have one or two here. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect Yoshi and Fire Emblem to be in there in addition to Mario Tennis but I can't see how that would take 30 minutes. There will be 3DS stuff and some third party announcements for sure but I think they'll have a couple of surprises.
I suppose you can just stick someone elses cart in the Switch for a game you don't own and it will award you coins? And I suppose this is why there's less coins for physical

They don't know how much you spent either. It's like a quarter of the eshop cost points equivalent you get right? Not sure if that means you get less if you register the game when it is on sale...

I think I remember reading that the coins can only be claimed once per cartridge, so unless you borrow off people who don’t use them, that wouldn’t work. I guess they hope more coins will encourage more digital purchases, because obvious an extra 20p off your next purchase if worth spending the extra ten quid or whatever for digital.
I thought this was a wind up, but surely the pro controller will do and most Bayonetta players are hardcore gamers anyway, so should have one. I am guessing the virtual console will be announced at e3.

How do I do this please?
KingK, try this, dude:
> logon to MyNintendo Account > click on your user / Mii icon (top-right corner of screen) > click on account settings > select User Information > select Linked Accounts > select Nintendo Network ID
From this point, you should be able to verify (or add) your Nintendo Network ID that you use on your Switch. Hope this works for you .
Thanks Jawa. Turns out I don’t have a Nintendo Network ID! I’m confused by all this tbh. I even set up on a Nintendo account just a couple of days ago on their website which was additional to my existing My Nintendo account. Why do they have multiple? Daft.
I can however see that my recent eshop purchases did earn me some coins after all. Stumbled on the correct submenu after a bit of nosing around.
It’s not very intuitive if you ask me.
Don’t think I need to create another Nintendo account / login as my Switch purchases show and I can see my activity on the app. Never used a 3DS (had a DS but don’t think that was ever set up to an online account?) although I did buy 2 2DSs for my boys 2 Xmas’s ago so would have thought there was an online footprint of some sort for me as their parent.
Think I’ll stay as I am

It is amazing that Nintendo re-visted their online setup and created a tangled mess. I am reasonably on the ball with it but when you think that you need....
> Nintendo Network ID > Nintendo Account > My Nintendo Account > Friend Code
...it's no wonder that many folk are probably thinking "wtf Nintendo you are mangling my brain and I give up" .
Meanwhile with Microsoft and Sony - one account for all. Why Nintendo couldn't just rebrand the NNID to My Nintendo is strange, and why friend codes have returned is even stranger, but at least we have something viable now and not needing a friend code for every single game.
